Likely new Senate judiciary chairman warns Bush against nominating anti-abortion judges

The Republican expected to chair the Senate Judiciary Committee next year bluntly warned newly re-elected President Bush on Wednesday against putting forth Supreme Court nominees who would seek to overturn abortion rights or are otherwise too conservative to win confirmation.

Bush should keep on nominating whomever he wants. The stonewalling by the Dim minority through the use of the filibuster suggests that it's time for recall campaigns against the bastards who have blocked many judicial appointments these past three+ years. All we need are the signatures to force the issue, and viable candidates to replace the bastards.

I will know the fix is in if the Senate does not propose as an initial act of a new Senate a rules change on cloture that removes from Pres. appointments the possibility of filibuster.

Since I haven't studied the "hundreds of judges he's nominated" (and neither, I am sure, have you), this statement is meaningless.

Sorry, but not for the Supreme Court. Nominees for THAT court need to be drawn from judges with a known track record of strict constructionism. One "Souter" is sufficient to invalidate the approach.

I hate to break the news to you, but PA went with Kerry, Toomey wouldn't have won. That's just a simple fact of the matter. Don't misunderstand, I like Toomey, but he wouldn't have won in a state that pulled the lever for Kerry.
