Today I read a thread that thanked all Viet Nam Vets for our part in this election. Y'all really "fogged me up" today. That was the most moving thread I had ever read. As a former Ranger (101st) I had to thank you myself, and praise y'all a little.

You people are the bravest, most patriotic, most caring and loving bunch I've ever had the privilege to fight in battle with. Yes, I said battle, cause that's just exactly what we have all been through. We saved this nation, not just us VN Vets, but all of us. I couldn't have made it through this year without all of you, and Free Republic. I hope you appreciate what we just did. We beat Goliath, we beat him with dedication, hard work, and the truth. We did it because the left has threatened our freedom and our country and we fought like there was no tomorrow, because if we hadn't, there would have been no tomorrow. I'm every bit as proud to be a part of this outfit as I was to be a 101st Airbourne Ranger, and that's the truth.

So, by the power vested in my as a member of the 101st Airbourne Rangers I offically induct all FReepers into the Corps, and with your induction I award your new Brigade (The Pajama Brigade) with the Unit Citation for valor in the Battle of 2004, above and beyond the call of duty. Congratulations by brothers and sisters, and thank you for all that you have done for me and my fellow Nam Vets. You are the finest Americans I have ever served with in the defense of our Republic.

I raise my glass (now you raise yours). To the United States of America, and the brave men and women of Free Republic, long may they both live.....you may drink now!

I appreciate your gesture but the last time I was attached to the 101st they made me jump out of the side door of a helicopter into a tree with a net. I didn't appreciate it because the helicopter was still flying and I didn't think jumping out was all that necessary.

Having said that, I will drink your toast and raise you one.

Uhm, Are PJ's going to be the uniform of the day?

I can hear the marching orders now:

The flannel patrol cover the left flank.

The T-shirt patrol cover the right flank.

The Nightie patrol is going to set the trap for the ambush.

I fought in the streets, against the antiwae scum and spat at them, when they spat at returning Nam Vets. I'd repeat it,any day od the week now,and twice on Sundays. My vote FOR the now re-ected president, was in no small part, another swipe at the now aged hippie, antiwaar scum and their posterboy,John Kerry!

Many thanks for your words and may GOD bless and keep you always.

Thank yous are not enough to repay you for your service and personal sacrifice, but I can give you a heartfelt one all the same. YOU are what make this a great country. And it was treasonous men like Kerry that took your honor away when you returned. He should be ashamed of himself, but it never bothered him one bit. I am so glad he was denied his joy of becoming president for what he did to all US Veterans of Vietnam. I was just a kid when my uncle returned from Vietnam in 1972, but he didn't have an easy time of it, again thanks to the treasonous actions of Kerry.

When I served it was under President Reagan and George H.W. Bush. I got out when Klinton came into office.

Again thank you for your service!
