>>They mostly live in Dearborn, which is Wayne county. There's probably some scattered throughout other suburbs- I'm told there's some in Macomb county.<<

The difference between the Arabs in Wayne county and those in Macomb is the head scarves.
Most of the Macomb Arabs are Chaldean Catholics.

I say we all get crowbars, go over there, pry it lose and float it across the lake to Canada.

Let them deal with it. It would serve them right after all the Canadian quarters they send down here.

GWB wasted his time going to Marquette. There may be hope for Michigan but I wouldn't hold my breath. The U.P. is populated by socialist Finlanders and welfare recipients and a lot of the lower is union, arabs and blacks.

Perhaps we could outsource all the universities here to a state that won't matter, say California where the weather is nice. And they can keep the MI tax money just to get rid of them.

Actually Bush did VERY well in the UP. Granholm got 58% in Marquette and Gogebic which Bush made closer. He lost Alger which is won in 2000, but that was close.

He even won Iron County - a democrat stronghold. The UP is starting to flip some.

Thanks for the post, information.

840,000 votes in Wayne County. That's about 80,000 increase from 2000 despite big population drops. I think Detroit stole this one.

Thanks Dan for posting this.I live in Clare County and was wondering how many would get out and vote at all. Bush won over Kerry by only 106 votes here, but hey it's a start.

would like to see the tanker Debbie Stabenaw replaced by Mike Rogers. He's cool.
Carl Levin needs to be pickeled and put on a shelf. He's going to die on the job the old fart won't leave.

Good points. Although I'm from the U.P. I worked in some of these Dem areas and it sure isn't our fault they created their own levels of misery and hate.

My observation is that the Dems had an effective strategy in their "Sportsmen for Kerry" effort. They had many big signs out promoting this obvious lie and unfortunately many bought it. I will no longer do business with those that displayed such signs and attitudes.

I spent the first 18 years of my life there, its a great place to raise kids. I'm glad to see it went for Bush.

That's very heartening; I was disappointed because GWB visited Marquette and drew a huge crowd and I thought he might just pull that county.

But just like Boulder County in Colorado - the site of a university, it generally heads left. Wayne, Genesee and Saginaw Counties are the problem.

One of the best decisions I ever made was to move from Oakland County to Ottawa County back in 1986. Looks like we had the highest % for Bush this year. We are also one of the fastest growing counties in the state, so maybe we turn the state red in a few years!
