Abandon Orange and San Diego Counties to the Dims? Please, no...
What's with the Southern Mississippi river? Looks like all of western Tennessee and Mississippi, and Eastern Arkansas, went Kerry.
I agree. New York and California were blowouts in favor of the Democrats.
So I wish somebody would explain to me why New York has elected and reelected a Republican governor? And why New York City keeps voting for Republican mayors the last three times? And why California dumped a Democrat governor, who followed decades of Republican governors (Wilson and Deukmajian), and replaced that Democrat with another Republican?
It is the weirdest thing.
Lookin' good !
5% difference? But they'd still have to be "one or the other", wouldn't they? I'd like to think they were 5% more Republican, personally! *grin*
You would think NY of all places, would understand the importance of reelecting "W". But then maybe they voted with their morals (or lack thereof).
Neat map of Bush Country!
To tell the truth, the Framers of the Constitution left the decision on how to allot the Electoral Votes to the state legislatures. In the early elections, states used several differnet methods and some did not hold a popular vote at all. Even until 1860, South Carolina distributed its EVs by a vote of the legislature. Some state split their votes.
"Winner-take-all" is not a constitutionally required formula.
Much more accurate map! Love it.
LOL!!
You've got it! At about 1:00 am Eastern time 3 November, Alaska is as red as red can be!
I was driving home tonight, thinking back on the roughest patch for me, around the time of the Kay report. It was tough as hell for me to hang in. But I did. I bought the Bush Cheney hat, the yard signs, the window stickers. I shepharded ppl through the registration process. I did what I could do.
And tonight I am just so proud to be an American. And I am so proud of my fellow Americans, who in my opinion gutted it out and made the tough choice. Ok sure, Kerry was a total nimrod. But even so, GWB has asked a lot of our country, and though I wanted to trust America, I had my doubts if we as a nation had the stomach for our challenges. Well that one pretty much got answered, eh old buddy? Americans aren't always right, but this time they came through in the clutch.
So, without posting a vanity, I just wanted to share that. Now I can truly say GWB is my president. I am optimistic about the political scene for the first time in a while. I pray that Americans will unite once again, support our troops AND their mission, and stop treating our own as being worse than the beheaders and murderers.
Great friggin election. Can it get any better? Gains every where you look. The Dem collapse continues. When was the last time an election went their way? By midterms it will have been 10 years. Incredible.
Gonna go to the freeper ball? I'm bringing the whole family. LOL
if Bush carried Boone Co. - then you have to look at little Ashland for being the reason. Many Bush signs around town - compared to only a handful for sKerry.
