In races across the country and at diverse levels of government, voters once again demonstrated the strength of the pro-life movement in America on Election Day 2004.
Despite being outspent (as usual) by powerful pro-abortion political groups, the pro-life movement once again demonstrated that it has something the pro-abortion movement has never had: the support of the people!
Priests for Life wants to thank the many groups and individuals who gave so much time, effort, and sacrifice to elect pro-life candidates.
Of particular note is the Catholic vote in the 2004 election: Catholics voted for President Bush over Senator Kerry by 51 to 48. That is a 4 percent gain over 2000. Among regular Mass-attending Catholics, votes went to President Bush by a 55-44 percent margin.
Now it becomes our task to work with these newly-elected leaders to bring about continued advances in the protection of the unborn. The legislative tasks ahead are painstaking and slow, and require immense patience. We are committed to working with each of you, so that with the same dedication and persistence we have all shown during the elections, we may translate electoral victories into legislative victories!

I expected that margin to be greater.
Catholic Ping - please freepmail me if you want on/off this list
What about the CA prop?
Pro-life ping!
"decided" = "decide"
four hours of sleep and coffee as your only means of sustenance can play tricks on the brain... :-)
Hallelujah! Hail Columbia!
THANK YOU FOR SPEAKING THE TRUTH.
And the RINO's and the Republicna Party better not make the mistake of forgetting it. They might also remember AZ vote "against" immigration on the ID issue.
A predicted Rep move to the LEFT by me over the next 4 years would be a major mistake for the R party, and would result in an easy loss in 2008 to the rats.
The media thinks things will move right due to the Senate pick-ups. I predict just the opposite, especially since Bush [no great fighter against abortion!..flame away if you want...he is weak] agreed with Kerry during their phone conversation that "something needs to be done" about the "divided" country.
Hear me now and believe me later...this may be the last halfway "conservative" President we have if the R party moves left with the help of RINOS like Specter and Ahnold, et al....
It is a scandal, but it's a start, too...We also need to be praying hard on the wishy-washy bishops who need to be more clear and in agreement with the vatican on these teachings...but each step is a step in the right direction, and one that God will help us to make, if we let him!
An irony pointed out this AM on KSFO is that in one of the most liberal counties in the Bay Area (Marin), there was a local measure to ban the use of genetically modified food. It passed.
The proposition to clone babies to harvest their stem cells passed pretty easily.
So no genetically modified corn, but the future looks bright for genetically modified babies. I live in such a weird place ...
You are absolutely right! In those OH counties where job loss was heavy, Kerry campaigned on creating jobs, etc. At 2am, one of the CBS analysts scrutinized that county and discovered the overwhelming majority of support for Bush was on "moral ethics".
Thank GOODNESS we had Scottish Law Specter and Ahnold Shiver to "deliver" their respective states to Bush. We all know having RINOs in statewide office make the area a lock for future conservative GOP candidates. Just look now great the GOP looks in IL, NJ, and NY after years of RINO rule in the 80s and 90s. < /sarcasm>
The RAT's heads are spinning. They are seething with hatred. Bitterness. They are so controlled by immorality that they never considered that the rest of America was sick and tired, vexed, by the culture of death, the crass babykillers, perverts, and socialist leeches who are taxing us to death for social experimentation designed to undermine the fabric of our nation. The forces of darkness have taken a big hit, praise be to God. The President has a clear mandate from the people of the United States. We need to pray for our President. The threat upon his life is huge.
Leaving the pooping to Triumph!
Yes,we must not,for one minute, allow Bush and/or one another,to forget that California and Pennsylvania did not go for him in this election. This despite his canpaigning for the anti-life Republican rather than the pro-lifers running against them.
Yep. I'm just wondering how long it will take Bush to APOLOGIZE and start taking the rat's "advice" and allow himself to be told what to do by the left to "bring the country together!"
You're right too. Bush supported the devil abortionists in Ahnold and Specter and neither delivered him their states.
NOW can we discuss the President's character cracks without bot flames??
Sorry but one is either pro-infanticide or not...there is no middle ground.. and Bush has not taken ANY lead against abortion at all...or immigration. And I doubt he will now like so many predict.
Sheesh...I guess time will tell.
A "victory" over socialism and marxism and terrorists for sure and a victory for our Republic!!
But how shallow the victory will be for conservative Christians against immigration, gay marriage and abortion...only time will tell.
