A senior GOP strategist dismisses the exit polls out of hand. "I'm old-fashioned. We're going to have wait till votes are counted." Today's polls have Dems with a mere 1% party i.d. advantage - in 2000 the exit polls gave Dems a 4% advantage. He recalls that Elizabeth Dole was down 6 pts. in exit polling and won her race by 9 pts. The same polls with screwy head to head numbers are showing Bush with 40% of the Hispanic vote - up 5 over 2000.

when does Fla close?
People. When a state like florida will be won by Bush say by 3% there is NO WAY you are going to know that until nearly all the precincts have reported. People..chill.
These are usually statements from someone who is behind. I hope I am reading these comments wrong.
people can't chill - they love to panic.
It's sad - they look for something to fret over.
When the last lawyer rests his case. Probably about January 19th, 2005.
7 PM EST for all of FL except the western Panhandle, 8 PM EST for the Panhandle
Technically 7, but not really till 8 EST, since the panhandle is on later time zone.
What annoys me is people who initiate panic threads. I think that calls for instant banning.
I think it's 7 p.m. for most of it and 8 p.m. for the Panhandle.
I posted on another thread. I just heard from someone at a K Street Law Firm that Frank Luntz, top republican pollster is saying Kerry has it in the bag due to larger than expected turnout. I hope he's wrong.
especially on a day like today - we don't need 50 vanities panicing over the same thing (like tradesports) - the clutter needs to be kept to a minimum.
Heck, for that matter when they called for Gore before 8 p.m.
I have a question. Since most of FL is on the electronic voting, how soon after the polls will we get a count? And will that include absentee and early voting?

for real.....you at freerepublic have brains. please use them and don't start wringing your hands over information that is notoriously false.
good news ping
Dummy me!! One post is enough. Sorry.
Florida's panhandle is heavily Republican. Look for a late Bush surge as the votes are tallied in Florida.
That would be double hearsay--a rarity even here.
