If Bush wins again, I fear for America [Barf alert, obviously]
St. Louis Post-Dispatch ^ | 10/31/2004 | Sylvester Brown Jr.

... Americans relied on their commander in chief when the monster of our nightmares brought real fear into our daily lives.

Instead of comforting those fears, Bush exploited them.

I know my country's strengths and I know my country's weaknesses. I know the deadly consequence when this country simultaneously grappled with fear, guilt and power. The three elements almost wiped out a nation of Native Americans. Paranoia and guilt triggered violent and deadly reprisals from slave owners when slaves revolted. After the attack on Pearl Harbor, it was fear and power that influenced the decision to drop an atomic bomb not once, but twice, on Japan. Then, in the 1950s, fear of Communist infiltration destroyed careers, snatched civil liberties and imprisoned too many innocent Americans.

Americans fear the foreigner we don't understand. We're comforted by the fact that we have the military might to obliterate our enemies. Yet, there's guilt. Behind the facade of patriotism and talk of global democracy, we know today's "terrorists" were yesterday's allies, puppets and business partners.

Bush played to America's dark side.

After the terrorists' attack, the world turned to our young country with open arms of compassion and support. Instead of accepting the embrace of humanity, Bush and his posse of neoconservatives set out on a lone Utopian mission, seemingly endorsed by God, to tame Arab nations. ...

Racist hack? How about spineless, lacking testosterone, lily liver, wimp, ailing, chicken, debilitated, decrepit, delicate, doddering, dopey, effete, emasculated, enervated, enfeebled, etiolated, exhausted, failing, faint, flabby, flat, fragile, frail, gentle, helpless, impotent, inadequate, incompetent, indecisive, ineffectual, inefficient, infirm, insubstantial, insufficient, lame, languid, low, nobody, paltry, poor, powerless, puny, rocky, sapless, sickly, slight, strengthless, tame, thin, unconvincing, weak, weakened, weakly, wimp, woozy, zero, cowardace, yellow, insecure, timid, morally backrupt!

Sylvester here wants to be comforted and coddled after the bullies say boo to us?

Anyone remember what happened to Chuck Bartlebaugh the wild life author? He believed and practiced singing to grizzlies. Coddle them. Make them your friend. Well, Chuck was promptly eaten.

Then, in the 1950s, fear of Communist infiltration destroyed careers, snatched civil liberties and imprisoned too many innocent Americans.

Having lived through that period, I am certainly familiar with the events. Some did go to prison (not nearly enough of them), but to my knowledge, not a single "innocent" one, as verified by subsequently released old Soviet Union files.

This article is another example of the reality that if you wait long enough anything that can be said will be said. Truth, fiction, plausible outrageous, it doesn't really matter.

"wins again"? That's new, coming from people like himself. Let's hope the late night results make him want to move to France.

My answer to such a compelling question.

"Why do so many people support George W. Bush?"

Because we are correct.

Any questions?

If the following corrections are made, Sylvester's article has some merit :

I know resent my country's strengths and I know represent my country's weaknesses.

He isn't blind. He knows he's black and Bush is white and that Bush has no desire to be America's next black president. Brown boy is a bigot.

Here's some free advice, Maggie. Whenever you're on Free Republic and you see a thread with the words, 'Barf Alert' or 'Vanity' in the title, don't click on them. That's not so hard now, is it?

The writer of this article just exposed his true nature.

I can't follow a president who has the audacity to believes he's doing God's work.

Be he can follow a President (Clinton) who is doing Satan's work.
