Good morning, freepers. As you may already know, this is where we place links to other Terri threads at Free Republic and other breaking news about Terri Schindler-Schiavo.
In addition, this is a place to meet and plan ways to use grassroots activism to help Terri's Fight.
If you are a newbie to Terri's Fight, I urge you to visit http://www.terrisfight.org where you can subscribe to their newsletter, can get up to speed on the court cases and the very long struggle.
As far as what can Free Republic do for Terri's Fight, in the November Dailies Thread (here), please consider joining us.
The pay isn't very good lol but it is rewarding to help Terri nonetheless. Terri's life has as much value as anyone else's. The right to die movement needs a counter-balance. That freepers, is where we come in. TO JOIN TERRI'S FREEPERS, I would ask that newbies and old guard Terri freepers do a post to join us under our new name: TERRI'S FREEPERS.
Finally, this is a reminder to please keep Terri in your thoughts and prayers and Terri's birthday will be on DECEMBER 3RD, her 41st birthday. A BIRTHDAY CARD THREAD will be created and when it is, we'll link it back here. Please post on that thread which will go to Terri's parents and siblings.
How important you are to Terri's Fight is immeasurable!
TERRI'S FREEPERS November 1, 2004
Why did the judge order the feeding tube continued? Was he just trying to delay her death until after the election?
If so, seems like it makes a mockery of the court system... Not that it wasn't a mockery already.
Judge Greer is at this time honoring the appeal rights of Jeb Bush and the Schindlers and has given Terri a stay. I don't know what Greer's motivation is but suffice it to say that I didn't vote for any of his friends who are running for local office. I have recently voted for those legislators who signed Terri's Law in addition to President Bush and Mel Martinez who support Governor Bush.
Greer is a Republican but he's feelin' some heat in Pinellas even though he felt emboldened after he was re-elected. His re-election doesn't entitle him to order the manner of someone's death however. That sticking point is an integral part of state and federal law.
Thanks for the update, fv. Praying much today for Terri, and for our country. Both Terri and The USA are fighting evil forces.!!
Please ping your lists and hopefully, if this thread remains in extended news, we can get some newbies to help us out. Ya think?
The Fla. Supreme Court's logic is utterly stupid. They say the legislature cannot affect a pending case. That's just plain wrong, though I doubt the US Supreme Court will entertain it.
Is the Court saying that if the legislature repealed the death sentence, that it would not affect any capital cases then pending? Of course it would. They are just making this stuff up as they go along. And the really pathetic part is that the decision was unanimous. Even Bush's appointee sign onto the decision. Pathetic. It's a patent abuse of power by the Court.
Child of God...
We pray those judicial sinners...
Do not cause the hour of thy death...
Amen !!!
.
And, we had trick or treaters at my place last night. It was funny but sad that a little boy approached my front step and I asked him if he was a pirate because he was covered in red globs and looked pretty bad. He said "No, I'm killed." That was the only costume idea that little young one could come up with.
That is what the evil in the world has done to the children. They are more aware of life and death than I ever was at his age.
Of course, the Court is abusing their powers and I mean pick one: Sixth Circuit, 2nd DCA, Fla Supremes.
Sticking with Jeb and the Fla legislature is our best bet. I hope Terri's Law legislators win their races tomorrow. If Frank Farkas wins tomorrow, (St. Petersburg), he should also be contacted because although he voted for Terri's Law, he may go wobbly on a new bill to protect the disabled from the bad exit protocols in our laws thanks to Sen. Prez Jim King, who is in a "real" hospice hall of fame. Isn't that a FARCE?
IF YOU CLICK ON "ACTIVISM THREAD" in blue at the top of this thread, it will take you right to Terrisfight.org.
Coming: birthday card thread for Terri's 41st birthday!

Terri and her mom.
fyi -- new Terri thread -- pls see fv's note. pls ping lists (I'm sorry, may have left someone out!).
bumping.
I don't remember. Did the court declare the entire law unconstitutional, or only as it affects this case? And if the former, what was their logic? If the logic is that the legislature can not affect a pending case, then it ought to be enforceable at least to the next case.

ADD me to- TERRI'S FREEPERS
Welcome to Terri's Freepers, you are officially member 2.
Terri's Law was so the feeding tube would be re-inserted to save Terri's life. Judge W. Douglas Baird declared Terri's Law unconstitutional and also denied Governor Bush due process. Terri's husband sued Governor Bush re: Terri's Law but Judge Baird didn't allow Jeb as a defendant to take discovery, gather evidence or to have a trial. Judge Baird denied Governor Bush due process rights here in Pinellas County in Schiavo v. Bush (re: Terri's Law).
me, too! :o)
