Halloween masks predict next president (100% accuracy since 1980)(Bush leading)
Pittsburgh Tribune ^ | Oct. 31, 2004 | Eric Heyl

In 2000, the Wisconsin-based costume company began tracking presidential candidate mask sales by five different mask manufacturers and asked 12 different chains to research their sales history.

What they found was remarkable: Since 1980, the candidate whose likeness has outsold his opponent's likeness has won the White House.

So you can throw out the confusing, contradictory polling numbers being released almost hourly now by Time, Newsweek, Reuters/Zogby, ABC/Washington Post, CNN/USA Today/Gallup and Pooh Bear/Piglet/Christopher Robin.

The numbers that truly matter, the numbers that unfailingly point to who will emerge victorious in the presidential election, are the number of Bush and Kerry Halloween masks being purchased.

According to the Internet site's statistics as of yesterday, Bush held a slight lead over Kerry.

Let them eat pumpkin cookies.

(Laura's chocolate chunk cookies out-polled Therezzza's pumpkin cookies in a ladies magazine poll that is supposed to be accurate)

I went to buycostumes.com, which is the site which compiles the numbers and has the track record going back to 1980. I can't find the numbers anymore, and I've been checking the site for over a week.

As of Friday, President Bush was 8% over Kerry. I was checking it all week and he had gone up 2%.

Hmmmmmmmmm

More than "slight lead".

Wow! Even his eyes go in different directions! (At the same time)

IMO, that is a sign of mental illness! (Can't see straight)

Bush ahead as of today 53 to 47 via the page found on Google.

They removed a link to the page from the site's main page because the Bush masks are sold out, while Kerry's are not.

No doubt the late "Kerry surge" here is a result of that. I checked a couple days ago, and Bush was ahead by darn near 10 points.

They are sold out of the Bush masks, apparently the demand exceeded the supply -- another good sign.

imagine this just another example of the Roe Effect in action... All the Kerry supporters children were aborted

You know, I did read somewhere that one effect of Roe v Wade has been to increase relative strength of the Republicans nationwide (IE Assuming that the majority of the 40M aborted since 1970 would have been raised in Democrat households).

Good news, I suppose.

However - the other indicator - the Washington Redskins - isn't pointing in our favor at this point, as they're down to Green Bay, 7-17.

As each has been considered "accurate" for the past bazillion years, we've got a little bit of a divergence of indicators here, eh?

i wonder if this is why liberalism is self destructing? does darwin's theory come into play?

"i wonder if this is why liberalism is self destructing? does darwin's theory come into play?"

It sure is in play, on several levels. On the top you have Teresa doing an AC current thing on some screws in Lurch (or is that reversed? You figure it out). Then you have a bunch of shameless actors that practically name themselves "Hosemonsters for Kerry". Clinton goes to Hawaii looking half-dead.

If somebody gooses Madeline Half-bright on one of those shows, she'll leave a puddle of blood.

BOO!

After reading this Michael Moore and Soros will buy 40,000 Kerry masks to tip the poll in Kerry's favor.

Ok, know all we need is a Redskins victory and Ohio. Because no Republican can win office without them.

The mask tally as of 5:57 EST has the president outselling serry 53% to 47%.

For amateur predictors, I put this one way above football superstitions since it actually samples public opinion.

Unless there was an sKerry surge not yet recorded in sales records, W is up 6 points.

Have a nice day.
