Fred and Mort predict 286 Electoral College votes for GWB, which strangely does not include Ohio. Upper midwest states make up for Ohio in their mind. Their pop vote prediction is 51-49 for W. For what it's worth...

How good are their predictions? (Either way I tend to think they're pretty close to what I think)

Ohio goes to Bush. That gives Bush 306.

Works for me. I don't care if Bush wins by 537 votes again, as long as he wins.

286 if Bush loses Ohio, means that Bush carries Iowa, NM, Minn and Wisconsin, and of course Florida.

Very conservative prediction. They also said that the 'resourceful' Dasshole will find a way to pull it out in SD.

I bet he will!

Did they have OH for Kerry or too close to call?

What has happened with WV? I cannot believe that Robert C. Byrd does not have some trick in mind for Tuesday.

And if that happens, GWB will become the first Republican presidential candidate in history to be elected with the electoral votes of OH.

Did they say if David Vitter could win outright in LA on Tuesday? Hope he can make it.

Pretty sure this is correct. From usenet groups but link to fox was long dead.....

"The Beltway Boys on Saturday evening predicted George W. Bush will defeat Al Gore 50 percent to 45 percent in Tuesday's election. The Boys predict Bush will collect more than 300 electorial votes to Gore's 220."

The thing I like about them is you've got a conservative and a reasonable liberal coming to a consensus, so their combined opinion is worth something. I think they're wrong on Ohio, they're missing the gay marriage effect (although they mentioned it later in the show as an X-factor), and overstating the effect of job losses.

Ohio goes to Bush. That gives Bush 306. And plenty of room for error. I generally agree with this number, but I think the PV is going to be more like 52-46.5.

Look what the Boston Red Sox did this year...

They predicted Dashle will win over Thune. I thought the latest polls were showing the opposite.

Last week and this week were the first time they showed GWB winning over Kerry. Previously they had Kerry winning--by a significant margin.

The one notable commentary was about Daschle. They seem to think he will pull out a win over Thune.

"I don't care if Bush wins by 537 votes again, as long as he wins."

Amen, amen! That's how I felt about the Red Sox, too. Had a little chat with hubby before the (mericfully) last game.

Hubby: Don't you want the series to be exciting?
Me: It's exciting enough.
Hubby: Don't you want them to win in Boston?
Me: I don't care.
Hubby: Aha! You want them to sweep?
Me: I JUST WANT THEM TO WIN!

ARRRRGGGGHHHH, we need to get to Wednesday, the RIGHT WAY!

GO BUSH!

I watched the Boys, and I agree with most of their predictrions. I think Bush will win Ohio, despite all of the dirty tricks this week. It will either be a narrow Bush victory, or a landslide.

I voted on Tuesday. Vote early and bring a friend.
