As the nations largest convenience retailer and an American icon, 7-Elevens goal is to get out the vote ... first in our stores this month in the second quadrennial 7-Election Presidential Coffee Cup Poll, but most importantly, in the real election Nov. 2nd.
Although billed as unabashedly unscientific and unofficial, we were surprised at just how accurate the 7-Election poll proved in the 2000 election. So pour up your favorite 7-Eleven hot beverage in a special 20-ounce Bush, Kerry or Third Party/No Opinion cups as a daily reminder to take part in the political process.
Check back here to see how the candidates are faring with the coffee electorate. Store results will be posted within two business days and updated daily.
Currently Bush 51.09%; Kerry 48.91%

The site also has state polls. Very interesting, especially NJ and CA. This poll is based on over a million cups sold (per a newspaper article in October). These are votes of the middle America - ususally labor intense (contractors, small business) and they are proud to show who they support. I visited the local 7-Eleven here in Naples, FL and they had a few Bush cups left and lots of Kerry cups.

If Starbucks did they same for its orders of no-fat, soy milk, frou-frou, extra-foam, vanilla lattes with a lemon twist and cinammon sprinkles; it would be 99% for Kerry. At least for the men who drink such beverages.

At local 7-11 Friday morning I had trouble finding a "Bush" cup, however, there were 8 tall stacks of F'n cups right on the counter-top at the coffee bar. Seems 7-11 has forgotten 9/11

Not fair! It's disenfranchising the "tall decaf double skim latte" voters.

A friend noted that many drivers are apt to nix the BC stickers and tags due to possible keyings.
Instead, notice the number of Support our Troops and God Bless America magnetic ribbons are on cars. These are the Bush supporters.

At least for the men who drink such beverages. Venti Mocha -- extra shot. That's me. I'd kick your arse if you got in my way.

A friend noted that many drivers are apt to nix the BC stickers and tags due to possible keyings.A good friend of mine is a trucker, he has a Bush/Cheney yard sign up.
I laughed really hard when I saw it, and told him that his union wouldn't approve.
