How does Bush go up 5% in one Fox Poll then only 2% a day later with 8% missing?

If you open up the FOX link from Realclearpolitics.com, you will see the poll methodolgy. It was conducted on Wednesday and Thursday evenings, 1200 total. No one was polled on Friday for this poll.

Too much hand wringing about daily polls fluctuating within their margin of error.
If you looks at the average of all the polls, Bush is up now more than he has been in three weeks...basically 3 points.
As we have all said, there are clearly more Bush supporters than Kerry at this point, and that will not change before Tuesday as Arafat and OBL have frozen the news cycle for the next three days.
So now it comes down to can we Bush supporters get our vote out at or near the same rate as the RATs. IF so, Bush wins. If not...heaven forbid...forget that thought...just get out to vote and things will be fine.

I don't really care why Kerry polled well, I think the lamebrain video featuring the one and only Osama is going to help GWB big time.......meanwhile, we had better be praying that President Bush has a healthy margin when he wins. (Who wants to go through what may ensue otherwise!)

According to the writeup, the poll was conducted on Wednesday and Thursday, not yesterday. The movement looks like statistical noise, as all tracking polls mostly are.

I wonder how the OBL tape has played into this? Not at all. The writeup says the poll was conducted Wednesday and Thursday. Looks like mostly statistical noise to me.

If anything about the bin Laden tape, it will definitely be a plus for the U.S.
Here's my logic: Our country has a choice--vote for sKerry and then we can kiss bin Laden's a$$ forever so that he doesn't terrorize us as if one is dumb enough to believe he wouldn't.
Or better yet, vote for our President, GW Bush, who has control of the Iraq affair and will capture bin Laden thus positively ending any possibility of terrorism.

FOX is a bunch of bold faced liars. Just heard that 12% Republicans may change their vote but 92% Dems support Kerry. Bush has always had the strong support lead on Kerry by at least 2 to 1 margin. This is FOX showing they are not Not Fair, Not Balanced and Not Truthful!

Jay Cost from the Horserace Blog has a good take on the Fox poll released today. Not sure if I can post from it directly.

Net drop of 3 point for the President vs. their last poll. Trend,,,not good.Or statistical noise. Welcome to the world of tracking polls.

Friday must not be a good day for Bush. Zogby, Ras and now Fox show a Friday bump for sKerry. Not necessarily. I suspect that Rasmussen is a day behind. Zogby is a joke. This Fox poll was for Wednesday and Thursday, not Friday.

Most of the polling was likely completed Friday before the NYTrogate debunking and the OBL tape release.

However, we need to remember that this poll was taken on a Friday night and the dems poll better on the weekends. No it wasn't. It was taken on Wednesday and Thursday.

I thought there was no way the Bin Laden tape would help Kerry. I thought the pentagon breifing would help the President. I'm sure abc will have Kerry up by 3 0r 4 points today. Jim
