"Arafat, 75, is not in complete control of his mental faculties and cannot make important decisions or communicate coherently..."

Translation: He's dead!

The power struggle to come should be interesting. Arafat took in Millions if not Billions, and his position is likely coveted by a lot of palestinian terrorists, er. uh, I mean patriots.

"He should hang on in a state of dementia for months..."

In other words, status quo!

Actually, there has to be some sort of elaborate funeral first, which should be interesting.

Heaven forbid his death before the election whereby Bush has somewhat of an obligation to say something. He would not want to take the high road and say something statesmanlike for fear of alienating the jewish vote. If he says what he actually believes (like, good riddence to a terrorist - gone without a shot fired) he may fail the "Global Test".

"I'm sure the war slut over at CNN is in mourning."

We hope that she and the other sluts* at CNN stay in mourning from now and at least 4 years after the election.

*Sluts = an encompassing word for whatever sex at CNN.

LAND DOWN UNDER

CLICK FOR MIDI SITE

It is time that he finally checked out
It's a shame it wasn't decades sooner
He was a man who was so truly evil
The news came on my FM tuner

Yasser's gone to the place down under
Where's all the virgins he wonders
Yasser's gone to the place down under
Refusing peace had been a big blunder

That guy had been the scum of the earth
I know that this may sound scary
I had never thought I could say this
That Arafat might have been worse than even John Kerry

He's gone to the place down under
Where's all the virgins he wonders
Yasser's gone to the place down under
Refusing peace had been a big blunder

(musical break)

Good. Arafat is a murderous thug. He kille Israelis and Palestinians. Palestinians need a real leader, not some CommuNazis loving Jew hating freak of nature.

Time for the IDF to start assassinating his would-be successors, making it appear that they are infighting and raising their internal paranoia."

I like it and I have red hair, a son named Jim, a brother named Jim, ex named Jim etc.

...Arafat, 75, is not in complete control of his mental faculties...

His short term memory may not be working.

I guess he wakes up every morning still thinking that he's an active terrorist and he forgets that he hasn't been out lately to terrorize.

I don't expect Bush to say anything when Arafat dies. Bush has openly written him off from the start. He won't diss him; that's not like Bush. But he won't say anything complimentary, either.

It was said that no matter whose a_hole fills the chair, the chair is always filled by an a_hole. Thus the imminent power struggle might have entertainment value, but, I'm afraid, nothing more than that.

"...Bush has somewhat of an obligation to say something."
Well, if there is any obligation for him to open his mouth on that occasion, he could always say something mealy-mouthed like acknowledge the fact of Arafat's death and then say that the administration is cognizant of it and is looking towards the future. Any speechwriter ought to be able to produce such texts by the ton.
