Silly me!
I always assumed that the "seals" U.N. Weapons Inspectors used to demarcate and isolate -- say, for instance, 377 tons of high explosive powders -- in Saddam's weapons storage facilities were some kind of super-secret, traceable electronic gadgets that were all-emcompassing for each storage building and "failsafe" in their ability to detect any tampering or back-door entrance to inspected and sealed buildings.
Once again, silly me!
What I learned today, thanks to Fox News' Brett Baier, is that these "seals" are little stamped copper buttons attached to thin wire and tied to the door of each explosives powder warehouse.

Apparently anyone with access to a machine shop could fake one of those "seals" too.
I'm sure a man of such integrity would never violate a treaty with the UN. Nor a resolution.
Well, Kerry would honor them, so why wouldn't Saddam and his henchmen.
Saddam was an honest despot
It's not unbelievable, it's the UN. Their policy is never to do or SAY anything which might EVER be construed as "aggressive" in any way. Unlike us Americans, who's aggressiveness amounts to a deadly sin in the UN. According to Hans Blix, who'se consistantly proven for the past 15 years that he can't find his rear quarters even with both hands tied behind his back, we modern Snidely Whiplashes are aggressive in our business practices. Be afraid of us, be very afraid...and count upon the UN to save you all...
Yep, he was a kind and beneficient despot, who would never have hurt a fly if the United States hand't made him do it all... Oh and he only attacked Iran to confuse the Evil Americans, so we wouldn't know he was on to our games. Yeah, that's the ticket.
He'd never mess with a UN seal. If he did the the UN would discuss it at length.
Followed at some obscure point in a theoretical future by a Strongly Worded Resolution.
You got their MO!
