You have that wrong -- Kerry told Tom Brokaw in his interview yesterday that he did not release all his military documents. Right from the liar's mouth! Boy! I can't believe you missed that sarcasm. I think you need to chill out.

Yes, I think they're strategizing! ;-)

Really? I thought it was an accepted (but ignored fact) that Kerry never signed the 180 releasing all his military records.
When did he supposedly do this?

I hope they already have their ducks in a row, because the MSM would love to trash this story if they can find ANY opening to do so. If nothing else, they will heavily emphasize the "October surprise" aspect of this coming out 4 days before the election - they will try to make the story all about the timing and circumstances of the story rather than the content.
Don't get me wrong, I'll be as ecstatic as anyone if we've finally got the goods on Hanoi Kerry, but the MSM will do ANYTHING they can to discredit this. Whoever's trying to release this info had better have rock-solid stuff because there's going to be a firestorm against them.

I'm finding a different spelling for MIDDENDORF:
Ambassador J. William Middendorf II, secretary of the Navy from 1974 to 1977, will be the guest of honor.
"Ambassador Middendorf is a true American statesman and life-long supporter of the United States Navy," said the museum's executive director, Capt. Ernst M. Cummings. "We are honored to welcome a man of his international prominence on board the Massachusetts for this historic event."
Middendorf was enrolled in the Navy V-12 program at Harvard University and the Naval ROTC at Holy Cross College. He served in the Pacific Theater in 1945 and 1946.
Prior to becoming secretary of the Navy, Middendorf served as undersecretary of the Navy and ambassador to the Organization of American States, and most recently as U.S. ambassador to the European Community. Also an author and composer, Middendorf has been the recipient of numerous decorations, including the Distinguished Public Service Award from the Department of Defense.

Regarding the money quote, which, for all its glaring apparent innecessity, shows, I believe, Qerri to be attempting to make himself eligible for Senator and President when he otherwise was not. To have served for more than a decade while knowingly not been eligible
must have a legal and dramatically negative consequence, even if this 2001 maneuver could be seen to fix it for activities after that date. My best guess is that among those 100 or so unreleased naval records is the statement that Kerry "gave aid and comfort to the North Vietnamese in time of war."
Knowingly hiding facts which would show you're ineligible to be a Senator or President, in of itself must be crime if not a felony. Qerri had served as a senator for more than two terms by this time. Let Jean serve time, just not in the Oval Office.

"Call reporters!!!"
The blogs will get ahold of this, then Drudge, talk radio, Fox, NYP and WT. If, as has been posted here, Sen. Miller's office has the facts from the Swiftees, Zel may be the release source. Unimpeachable. It's 3:40 ET. I'd say they have about 90 min left for full impact.

another possibility: navychief has been working with the n.y. sun on the story, and they are not happy that their big piece for the weekend has gotten leaked.

Exactly right. Patience will always be rewarded. Determining the validity of this news is obviously being resolved elsewhere. The circumstances surrounding this revelation are similar to hearing a buzzing sound while walking in the woods; tread carefully, as that buzz may bite.

The source could face criminal charges?I'm thinking if it were me, I would argue that Kerry has given implicit permission by stating that all his record are available on his website. I don't think anyone could successfully prosecute a whistleblower.

This letter was from yesterday, and it was linked to a NavyChief post at SwiftVets that had been inactive for a few days. After that post, activity picked up again by quite alot.

That's a good one - I like your boat. That's like telling a submariner like myself "what a nice ship you have here"
It is strangeg what sticks in your mind. I took my kids on a tour of the submarine and all they can remember are the little little racks and the big torpedoes..

Different standard for a Democrat? I'm not surprised. You need proof beyond a reasonable doubt to destroy a Democrat. Then again, it doesn't matter if he's a felon. To a Democrat, such news is a career-enhancing move. It might have destroyed Kerry 33 years ago but today we live in a very different world today. The SOTC standard as I pointed out, is applied only to a Republican. That said, its fun watching John F*ckin' twist in the wind. It couldn't happen to a more deserving guy.
