Osama bin Laden tried to purchase the world's largest pearl, the Pearl of Allah, as a gift to Saddam Hussein "to unite the Arab cultures," and Hussein was prepared to accept, according to the pearl's owner.
Victor Barbish, who owns sixty-six percent of the pearl on behalf of his daughter, told WorldNetDaily he received an offer in 1999 from individuals who said they were "from bin Laden's group" to purchase the pearl for $60 million to give to Hussein as an overture of unity between al-Qaida and the Iraqi government.

As a dog owner, I've encountered "Pearls of Allah" frequently on the backyard lawn. My dobermans are more like "Boulders of Allah". Im sure Allah smells just like her "gifts" to me too.

The point is that of all the comments that can be made about this article, such as what was Saddam giving Bin Laden in return for this (WMD, maybe?), and many others, most people, including you, choose to comment on the look of the pearl, which is basically irrelevant. Well excuuuuse us. When is it ok to have a discussion about the look of the pearl? Shall we create a new thread in Chat? What's irrelevant is you dictating to others what can and can't be discussed on FR. No offense, as you are a vet here, but cmon, lighten up.
