Or, the Russians, unlike the French, knowing their fingerprints were all over the Chem end of the Iraqi WMD program, wanted to make darn sure that they did not get found out.

Thanks for the ping.
Why am I not surprised? Russia's been in this as deeply as the damned French, for decades.

"...Russian troops, working with Iraqi intelligence, almost certainly removed the high-explosive material that went missing from the Al-Qaqaa facility, south of Baghdad."Do we know when in the time line this is supposed to have happened? Anyone?

"There is at least as much evidence for this as there was for the current story of the troops not safeguarding the 'stockpiles'."
Yep. Not much. I hope somebody has some, though. It's a great story.

Do ya think that perhaps President Bush was a little premature in reporting what he saw when he looked into Putin's soul? Bush has a gift of thinking the best about people until he is proven wrong. Of course the compliment cost him nothing.

"What better way to test new weapons?"
Point taken.
But all the intel we had going in said that the Koronet's weren't ANYWHERE in the reigon. Until then we were working under the assumption that the Iraqi's didn't have anything that could knock out an M-1.
The first we knew of them being in country was when a tank from 3/7 Cav. got nailed with one.

Actually he has done something. He's made it clear that Russia would block any move to sanction Iran due to it's nuclear program.

On the contrary, I would opine that Putin leaked the story.

Deputy undersecretary of defense John A. Shaw believes the Russians moved the explosives out of al Qaqaa . . . ? Who is that supposed to convince? Evidence? Well, I could say that it wouldn't convice trolls, but that would probably set you off...
Don't worry, I've clicked your 'In Forum' link on your about page.
