CHARLOTTE, N.C. -- The North Carolina Republican Party said it has received reports that some poll workers are trying to persuade Mecklenburg County voters to vote Democrat.

David Turner said it happened to him when he went to cast his early vote at the University City Library.

When a poll worker told him how to cast his vote, "she reached over and literally pointed her finger to the Kerry/Edwards ticket,"Turner said Tuesday.

This actually gives me hope.

I fell better now that my electronic vote, with no paper trail, is actually being counted. Why else would they have been trying to sway individual votes? (/sarcasm :-)

BTW, I observed for a couple hours yesterday. The average for 7 voting machines was 127 voters in one hour. That's a rate of 18 voters/machine/hour or 3.3 minutes per voter. This also means the maximum number of voters, for a precinct with 7 machines, on election day will be 1651.

My precinct has 3052 registered voters. This truly smells like chaos.

Will these people ever be accused by the MSM of trying to steal the election? It's the media's silence on this outrage that makes it viable.

This is a relatively well educated area--UNC/Charlotte area. This fact leaves me to believe there is some real fraud going on. Heard the guy, mentioned in the piece, interviewed on the radio this AM--he d/n sound like someone who would need help.

The favoritism may be worse than it appears.

A little Database mucking shows that heavy Republican precincts will be inadequately equipped with voting machines on election day.

If this is true, it needs to be reported pronto.

Call the GOP HQ and your district election officials. Call the media. Do not let this stand.

We were given a vote fraud hotline and I haven't checked if this is national or for our state:

"But the issue now is very political. The state GOP sent a letter to Dickerson on Tuesday demanding that he retrain his staff."

LOL! Democrats will always lie, cheat and steal. It's not a "training" issue, it's a character issue. These people should not be poll workers at all. You can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear.

Say very loudly, "STOP TELLING ME WHO TO VOTE FOR!"

Then ask that poll worker for his or her name. Write it down as you note and write down the time. Ask who is supervising the poll, then ask that person for the phone number of the county election supervisor.

Something tells me stuff like this happens a lot.

Four years ago during Bush-Gore, the precinct that I voted in actually had the Washington Post's endorsement of Gore clipped from the newspaper and sitting in plain sight in front of the poll worker where everyone could see it, which is blatant electioneering and illegal.

I thought of raising a stink but decided it just wouldn't be worth the trouble here in Pinkoville.
