ARLINGTON, VA -- Today, Bush-Cheney '04 announced the release of the campaign's newest television advertisement, "Whatever It Takes." The ad features the President discussing his resolve to win the War on Terror.
Script For "Whatever It Takes"
President Bush:
These four years have brought moments I could not foresee and will not forget.
Ive learned first hand that ordering Americans into battle is the hardest decision, even when it is right. I have returned the salute of wounded soldiers who say they were just doing their job.
I have held the children of the fallen who are told their dad or mom is a hero but would rather just have their mom or dad.
Ive met with the parents and wives and husbands who have received a folded flag. And in those military families, I have seen the character of a great nation.
Because of your service and sacrifice, we are defeating the terrorists where they live and plan and youre making America safer.
I will never relent in defending America, whatever it takes.
President Bush:
Im George W. Bush and I approve this message.
The only thing I can think of is that Rove's focus groups have shown that this stuff is a winner over Kerry's shrill attacks and they are betting on stuff like this to carry the day.
You always imagine that what the election really comes down to--what each candidate is really all about--comes shining through during the very last days of a campaign.
What a wonderful ad (didn't see it listed on the link?? but the words are wonderful!)!
How I love this man. He is great.
Pray for him people, pray very hard.
Great, great ad!
FINALLY..a Bush ad with Bush in it!
Bush imprinted himself on Americans as strong leadership. Only the constant, c0nstant harping has drug that down. This will help a WHOLE lot when people go to the voting booth.
Josh: I would agree with your analysis. I think they may be seeing the power and effect of the Ashley's Story ad (which I feel is great) and they may be pursuing a last-week strategy of quiet dignity and upbeat patriotism vs. the Kerry shrill "incompetence" strategy.
Maybe after months and months of endless campaigning, the Bush team thinks America wants reassurance instead of yet more anger.
And who am I to argue !!
Link is under the words..in message area.
Excellent ad!
I dunno... I really liked the wolf ad.
AWESOME!!!!!!!!!!! INSPIRING!!!!!!
America always wants optimism over anger, attacks and lies. By showing our President speaking from the heart and showing patriotic optimism America will respond because at the end of the day we want a happy family and not a dysfunctional screaming melee.
You could be right. The switch in tone could re-engage those that are tuning out the election like I start doing. Also, the vast MAJORITY of undecideds are women. These last 3 ads or so, wolves w/woman voice, Ashley (had my neighbor crying when I showed her), and this one really get you. Gets the men too see'ing the American military pride.
Yep, the sudden change in Tone may re=engage the tuned out to his message vs. Mr. doom and gloom
One word. Wow!
Great Ad.
Much, if not all, of the words came from the acceptance speech, which I loved.

Sorry, I hadn't seen somebody already posted a link
