What a treat on "Fox & Friends" this morning: William Kristol hammered the pro-Democrat New York Times and pro-Democrat CBS for "colluding" and "conspiring" with Sen. John Kerry to topple President Bush.
Even Kerry's own handlers now admit they have no proof to back up the issue the Democrats concocted with their media allies.
Kristol notes in his new column for Weekly Standard: "Pressed on Tuesday afternoon about the accuracy of the allegations on Fox's Big Story with John Gibson, Richard Holbrooke, a senior adviser to the Kerry campaign, said: 'You don't know the truth and I don't know the truth.' He later underscored this point: 'I don't know the truth.'
"That minor issue hasn't kept the Kerry campaign from creating a television ad based on what may well be untruthful claims. ... Shouldn't he at least make sure that such a charge is true?"
But in the Democrat playbook there's no entry for truth. The party's longtime strategy is to repeat a lie until people believe it. Thanks to their media collaborators, and President Bush's wimpy refusal to denounce the Times and "60 Minutes" and Kerry and John Edwards, the stunt could succeed.
At least a few voices are speaking out. "Kerry gins up his attack machine based on a flawed New York Times story," the Republican National Committee noted Tuesday.
Richard Lessner, executive director of American Conservative Union, blasted the story "a cheap, baseless and partisan hit-job on President Bush" and pointed out that "neither the Times nor CBS has much interest in reporting the facts."
thats how it looks to me too....I dont get it unless there is some big ole surprise from our side coming...but I doubt that now, because there are EARLY VOTERS out there....they are being fed this stuff and believeing it...
No, I haven't seen it. I guess you could say I lead a charmed life. ;-)
I feel the same way philsfan24

Got a link to his page?
The "ugly thread" one may come in handy...;))
Already read Kristol's editorial early this a.m., check back to read all your comments later.
Doesn't it make you wonder how much crap the MSM/DNC has made up in times past?
Last year's call for the Kerry win in Florida was most definitely planned by the MSM/DNC. I have no doubt that they will do it again this year setting the stage for the litigators.
Go figure. Conspiring together? No, couldn't be. (sarcasm)
Maybe this is our October surprise, except it's not really a surprise.
It would be an absolute winner for GWB if he would just say it. But the squeaky wheel always gets the grease, and the Bush camp can't just assume the people will see through this. Thats the mistake our side often makes. Assuming things. When we took over in '94, the Republicans just assumed we had won our arguement to the people and they sat back and relaxed. That is what worries me. Bush has a very deep faith in God and I just hope he is so complacent because he has put it in God's Hands and isn't worrying about it. I guess we all need to do that but Lord, its hard.
Agree -- when is the President going to respond to these lies?? At the very least he should give it prominent mention in his stump speeches. Why is he not doing so? (Not that the MSM would report it any way).
Billy stated that Bush will win 52 to 47. He said he predicted it the night before Cheney did. I think they KNOW something we all just suspect!
LLS
amen :)
I will clue you in. To claim the lies are lies, is to give credence to the lies.
Plus, the other side doesn't believe you.
Better to let them hang themselves. We already know that CBS's embedded reporter stated exactly what was and was not found in 2003.
President Bush should not lower himself to doing what the Dems do.
Kerry is using the MSM to try and win, and it keeps blowing up in his face.
President Bush relies on facts that can be looked up by anyone, and on PERSONAL campaign stops. He is very warmly received and admired.
Kerry bores the hell out of the audience, most of whom were 'paid' to be there, one way or the other.
VOTE, INFORM OTHERS, WATCH FOR FRAUD. TRUST IN GOD.
I hate Camapign Finance Reform, but if you ask me: live by the sword die by the sword.
Me, too. And to me its so unecessary. GWB could blow him out of the water. The silence from thee WH is deafening.
With all this information available, it makes one wonder, how in the world the no WMD's story stuck. What really sealed it was when both B and C got on tv and said there were't any WMD's. They should have stuck to their story and kept pounding on all the stuff we've found already.
If nobody besides the mainstream media were allowed to discuss politics publicly for the 90 days prior to an election, none of this would be happening.
CBS and NYT should be able to publish anything they want, and nobody should be allowed to question them or respond to them.
Amen, Brother!
I agree. The president should say enough is enough. Senator Kerry should stop acting like a politician and start acting like and American. I called the Bush campaign yesterday to complain. I'm urging everyone I know to call the Bush campaign and the rnc. The President has to stand up and call Kerry out. jim
AND....I hope they will consider this. The UN Inspectors decided during the lead up to the war, to allow Saddam Hussein to keep these dangerous explosives. While Bush was going to the UN again and again, these explosives were in Saddam's custody, courtesy of the UN. Why would the UN inspectors do that? No one believed at the time Saddam's lie that he needed the explosives to manufacture cement. But still, the UN did not have the explosives removed or destroyed.
The UN put a seal on the door of the bunkers where they were stored???? Would that be yellow crime scene tape? Yeah right, that would have kept Saddam from removing the explosives and hiding them. Sure.
After thinking this over, who would want President Bush to spend the last days of the campaign on the defense? I think it's much smarter for Bush himself to ignore this last minute October surprise, that in truth is an old story, rehashed, and on it's face, a bogus allegation against him. Voters "get it". They know what this is, and I don't think it will change any votes, except those thoroughly disgusted with The New York Times, CBS, and John Kerry.
