Kristol: N.Y. Times and CBS 'Conspiring' With Kerry to Defeat Bush
NewsMax.com ^ | 10/27/04 | Carl Limbacher

What a treat on "Fox & Friends" this morning: William Kristol hammered the pro-Democrat New York Times and pro-Democrat CBS for "colluding" and "conspiring" with Sen. John Kerry to topple President Bush.

Even Kerry's own handlers now admit they have no proof to back up the issue the Democrats concocted with their media allies.

Kristol notes in his new column for Weekly Standard: "Pressed on Tuesday afternoon about the accuracy of the allegations on Fox's Big Story with John Gibson, Richard Holbrooke, a senior adviser to the Kerry campaign, said: 'You don't know the truth and I don't know the truth.' He later underscored this point: 'I don't know the truth.'

"That minor issue hasn't kept the Kerry campaign from creating a television ad based on what may well be untruthful claims. ... Shouldn't he at least make sure that such a charge is true?"

But in the Democrat playbook there's no entry for truth. The party's longtime strategy is to repeat a lie until people believe it. Thanks to their media collaborators, and President Bush's wimpy refusal to denounce the Times and "60 Minutes" and Kerry and John Edwards, the stunt could succeed.

At least a few voices are speaking out. "Kerry gins up his attack machine based on a flawed New York Times story," the Republican National Committee noted Tuesday.

Richard Lessner, executive director of American Conservative Union, blasted the story "a cheap, baseless and partisan hit-job on President Bush" and pointed out that "neither the Times nor CBS has much interest in reporting the facts."

GWB doesn't have to go ballistic on this KerryNYTCBS silliness. (1) They are making GWB's case for going in: Iraq had stockpiles of dangerous weapons, many of which were being moved around, hidden, etc. It was right to invade, even if 1 percent of the stuff went missing --- so WHAT? This translates into an unwitting Kerry endorsement of the war! (2) The followup stories are making it clear that the Qaqaa explosives were likely gone when our soldiers got there. Factor in the indecency of Kerry chiding our brave troops who were doing a great job, don't we all agree. Ha! It's a winner for GWB.

MAYBE FOX has had a plan all along, this is the last week of the election ,so to much cannot be made of FOX conservative leanings ,maybe they are right on target,I say this because of the last couple of weeks FOX has been to kind to dems and hard on the pubs, AMERICA does have a short memory process ,and maybe FOX is right on.

Thank you ABC,

My question and I would suppose, the question of all good people is,

"Since when is a lie not obscene and indecent?"

Sheesh!

"Round up the usual suspects!"
"And get the U.N. too!"

You are very welcome. Glad to be of service, even if unwittingly.

I got it from FReeper Dog's home page. He's got another one that cracks me up: "Buckle up folks. This thread is going to get ugly," but a lot of his photo links aren't working right now, at least for me.

Well, duh...the RATS would riot and kill their to way to power over us peons, why would we think they'd balk at lying to get it?

Kristol has been stabbing GW in the back since the election night of 2004.

Nice to see him and other back stabbers come around.

President Bush refused to comment on the ANG story, too. I love Pres Bush but when he does the no comment thing, it makes him look guilty as hell to people.

youre absolutely right. my enthusiasm is already dampening. it is so frustrating to know the truth about this and have no one else besides freepers informed. ive talked to about 10 people today about the weapons cache and they said they didnt even know about the fact that they disappeared so long ago. these advertisements are gonna stick with people unless something is done. the media arent gonna report the truth either. i swear if bush remains silent about this and ends up blowing the election, i am gonna be livid. 4 years of john kerry? omg it scares me to death.

That is a good link you posted. It shows that the Army would certainly look for IAEA seals at those sites and was at the time. This, from the unlikely source of CBS, tends to corroborate points made below.

February 2003 U.N. Report: Saddam Moving Explosives From Al-Qaqaa

"..# On March 8, 2003, IEAE inspectors made their last check of the facility before the war. The IAEA said that included a spot check on some - but not all - of the sealed explosives.

# "The war started March 19. After the Army's 3rd Division moved through here on their way to Baghdad, the first U.S. troops stopped in to Al-Qaqaa on April 9.

# "A Reuters camera crew embedded with the scouts from the 101st Airborne Division arrived at the storage facility, did a quick search noting a number of bunkers filled with explosives - but nothing marked by the IAEA.

# "On April 10, the Second Brigade of the 101st arrived there and spent the night. An NBC crew was with them. A cursory search was conducted. Again, nothing marked or tagged by the IAEA was spotted. The Second Brigade left the next day, pushing forward to Baghdad..."

So even if soldiers or other observers did not see looting and the bunkers were locked, the absence of IAEA seals is a good indication that the material could have been moved and the bunkers locked back up as a matter of course. If I was an Iraqi soldier, I damn well would lock the bunkers back up. Who would want to PO the high command in that Army.

Our soldier were looking for IAEA seals, or anything that might indicate WMDs. Apparently, no IAEA seals were found.

A possible scenario, and not improbable, is that after the IAEA spot check and before the war, the seals were broken and the material was moved and the bunkers locked back up as part of a routine military precaution to protect expensive material that absolutely would be a military target.

CBS and NYTimes are dirty as hell in this. It is unfortunate that there is no easily exposed forged memo to blow it up and that there is little time left for analysis and less likelyhood that most would look at it. It's going to be shouts and sound bites to the end, but that was the NYTimes and CBS's goal from the start.

Yeah, I know Eric.

I believe I am on all the "watch" lists for the first time in my life. But that's okay too.

When "they" come for the Christian, conservative, gun owning, America lovin', freedom fightin', Son of the South, -- "they'll" know where I am.
