What a treat on "Fox & Friends" this morning: William Kristol hammered the pro-Democrat New York Times and pro-Democrat CBS for "colluding" and "conspiring" with Sen. John Kerry to topple President Bush.
Even Kerry's own handlers now admit they have no proof to back up the issue the Democrats concocted with their media allies.
Kristol notes in his new column for Weekly Standard: "Pressed on Tuesday afternoon about the accuracy of the allegations on Fox's Big Story with John Gibson, Richard Holbrooke, a senior adviser to the Kerry campaign, said: 'You don't know the truth and I don't know the truth.' He later underscored this point: 'I don't know the truth.'
"That minor issue hasn't kept the Kerry campaign from creating a television ad based on what may well be untruthful claims. ... Shouldn't he at least make sure that such a charge is true?"
But in the Democrat playbook there's no entry for truth. The party's longtime strategy is to repeat a lie until people believe it. Thanks to their media collaborators, and President Bush's wimpy refusal to denounce the Times and "60 Minutes" and Kerry and John Edwards, the stunt could succeed.
At least a few voices are speaking out. "Kerry gins up his attack machine based on a flawed New York Times story," the Republican National Committee noted Tuesday.
Richard Lessner, executive director of American Conservative Union, blasted the story "a cheap, baseless and partisan hit-job on President Bush" and pointed out that "neither the Times nor CBS has much interest in reporting the facts."
The Lord is the defense of my life; Whom shall I dread?
When evildoers came upon me to devour my flesh,
My adversaries and my enemies, they stumbled and fell.
Though a host encamp against me, my heart will not fear;
Though war arise against me in spite of this I shall be confident.
Psalm 27:1-3
The Lord is in control and he will show his power once again. This is the best part of the game when it is in the 4th quarter and 2 mins left. That is when the juices start flowing and the fun begins and this is getting fun. GW is in a great position and one more long play and the game is over.
This election has been truly historic in so many ways, but the most powerful transparency is the exposure of the collusion between the media and the Rat Party. There is no longer a pretense of fairness left in the Stone-age press and have removed any ethics they had left from their reporting to become a 24/7 attack ad for Yaawn Cut & Ran Kerry.
DespeRat times call for despeRat measures and the Libs are on the precipice of extinction as we have known them. Rather than search out the truth, PravdABDNC has become destortors of the truth for the campaign. The forged AWOL documents was the beginning and now we have the phony explosive charges. We now find that the explosives were most likely never in the bunkers when our troops arrived and they refuse to print the truth. The Liberals are always more than eager to smear our Military and CIA to get at our President. For Libs that is a two-for. Now watch them try to drag out the Uranium scare or some other nebulous Monday Morning Armchair General attack.
This is how devoid of soul the Liberal Establishment has become. Rather than search for the news or provide a dialogue for important issues they have become Michael Mooreons distorting and framing GW with ridiculous charges. He has become the sloven standard bearer that the Old Media has lowered itself to.
We as a Country needed to have this revealed. We needed to have a clear delineation of how valid the information we have entering our homes and Country. Just as the Enron scandal was a blight on the investors in the short run, cleaning out the charlatans provided an important valuable service in the long run. It showed investors who to avoid and began a thorough evaluation of the accounting practices in industry. Cleaning out the Old York Times and the DNCBS of their charlatans will be a valuable service in the future for knowing who to believe and who to ignore, especially during these dangerous times.
This election has been an eye opening election for the entire Country. It is now crystal clear who and what we can and cant trust. Unfortunately for the Stone-age press, they overplayed their hand and are headed for the Bomb Bunkers of History.
Pray for W and Our Election
very sweet and powerful message :)
thank you
I heard it. Bush also said an investigation to get the facts is in process. I wish he would how many tons the military has recovered. 400,0000 vs 377....
I know we'd all like him to say so much. I will say that others speaking for him---from Cheney to Kerik to others---have been hammering home the point of how much has been destroyed.
I swear I've heard President Bush say it many times over the many months of the war.
Stay tuned, they're clearly rolling out the counter-attack.
"Will the last one out of the Old Media please turn off the lights?"
I thought everyone was already gone....
(Cheney needs to go unhinged)
Cheney? unhinged? not his style.IMO he's already addressed this and thrown it back in their face.
Nov. 4. (They have to burn their files.)
if they throw enough MUD,,,,
SOME of that MUD will stick,,,
and the MUD that DOES stick,,,
IS very, VERY HARD TO REMOVE!!
Why don't you just trust the Buch/Cheney '04 super-professionals to do their jobs already? They know what they are doing. All the overdramatic unraveling around this forum is becoming embarassing.
Jeez Louise, suggesting that the UN might be using this "let's make old news into new news" ploy to shift attention away from themselves would be like suggesting that the Slickster launched a unilateral strike in '98 to deflect attention from the Monica "thing"...
Bwahahahahahahahahaaaa
"overdramatic unraveling??"
I just stated what I feel.....Im done trying to defend, if we dont get any help from the campaign on this......
Im not embaressed to say Im worn out....
what have you done lately to support Pres Bush?? did you post on 77 message boards? did you send all the emails you could to get the lie exposed on the explosives?? did you call every news organization you could to ask for fair coverage?? .....well I DID.....
so dont be telling me I should be embaressed ...Im not...the end....

Bush addresses CBS / NYT / Kerry October (explosives) surprise in PA
10/27/04 | President Bush

President Bush, on the stump in PA, took some time to address Senator Kerry's reckless handling of the NYT / CBS October Surprise about missing explosives. He noted Kerry is a politician who will say anything to get elected and that his own foreign policy advisor admitted he doesn't have the facts. For a politician to jump to conclusions without the facts, Bush noted, demonstrates Kerry is ill-suited to be Commander-in-Chief. He went on to note that the issue is being investigated and chastised Kerry for belittling our troops, likening it to his attacks against the military for operations in Tora Bora when General Franks has noted he (Kerry) doesn't know what he's talking about. Crowd applauds in obvious recognition.
well AMEN!!.....thanks for that post Grampa Dave....I needed that today :)
Keep the faith.
GW, Cheney, Rove and others who are running GW's campaign are not the dummies that the CBBTs (Constant Bush Bashing Trolls) on Free Republic try portray them as.
If I had a $ for every Bush has lost it reply/post by the CBBT's since 2000, no one in my family would ever have to work for money for the rest of this century.
The CBBTS on Free Republic have never been for GW. They are either new trolls or deeply planted Moby Trolls, and they hate GW with every fiber of their worthless bodies. They try to turn every thread into Bush is a loser thread.
:)
No I don't post on 77 message boards. That's maniacal.
I've donated thousands of dollars to BC '04 and other GOP candidates and I'm personally involving myself in the 72 race to the finish GOTV program here in my State.
I don't second guess the world class political professionals my candidate has hired in some self-indulgent binge. I don't have any of the information the professionals do, I don't have the experience they do, and I don't care about the outcome next Tuesday any more than they do.
All the whining around here by the "What the heck is wrong with Bush/Rove/campaign?" internet experts is unwarranted, counter-productive and annoying.

Bush breaks "silence" on missing Iraq explosives

LITITZ, United States (AFP) - Breaking his silence on missing Iraqi explosives, US President George W. Bush (news - web sites) called Democratic rival John Kerry (news - web sites)'s attacks on the subject "wild charges" levelled in desperation.
At a campaign rally in this crucial state just six days before the election, Bush said US forces were investigating the fate of the 350 tonnes of high explosives and that Kerry was irresponsibly jumping to conclusions.
"The senator is making wild charges about missing explosives," said Bush. "Think about that: The senator is denigrating the action of our troops and commanders in the field without knowing the facts."
"Unfortunately, that's part of a pattern of saying almost anything to get elected," said the president, whom Kerry has accused of incompetent war planning in the wake of media revelations that the explosives went missing.
"America is now investigating a number of possible scenarios, including that the explosives may have been moved before our troops even arrived at the site," said Bush.
"This investigation is important, and a political candidate who jumps to conclusions without knowing the facts is not the person you want as your commander in chief," said Bush.
His comments came after a top Iraqi science official said it was "impossible" that the explosives could have been smuggled out of a military site south of Baghdad before the regime fell last year.
The UN nuclear watchdog agency this week said the explosives went missing from a weapons dump some time after Saddam Hussein (news - web sites)'s regime was toppled in April 2003 by the US-led invasion.
The president gave a new polish to a well-worn campaign attack based on Kerry's assertion that preemptive US military action ought to be able to pass a "global test" of credibility.
"I want to remind the American people: if Senator Kerry had his way, we would still be taking our global test, Saddam Hussein would still be in power, he would control all those weapons and explosives, and could share them with out terrorist enemies," Bush charged.
Thank you.
More information coming out now...
Apparently, 3rd division got there before 101st...April 3...they engaged Iraqi army at this location...didn't see IAEA seals either.
Coincides with the findings detailed in the Duefler report about possibility of weapons having been moved...
bump!
CBS has as much credibility as Stalin. There are full of BS 24/7.
