The prayer of Pastor Kirbyjon Caldwell at President Bush's Inauguration is as relevant today as it was in 2001.

Let us pray, please.

Almighty God, the supply and supplier of peace, prudent policy and nonpartisanship, we bless Your holy
and righteous name. Thank you, oh God, for blessing us with forgiveness, with faith and with favor.
Forgive us for choosing pride over purpose.

Forgive us for choosing popularity over principles. And forgive us for choosing materialism over
morals.

Deliver us from these and all other evils, and cast our sins into your sea of forgetfulness to be
remembered no more.

And, Lord, not only do we thank you for our forgiveness, we thank you for faith, faith to believe that
every child can learn, and no child will be left behind, and no youth will be left out.

Thank you for blessing us with the faith to believe that all of your leaders can sit down and reason with
one another so that each American is blessed.

Thank you for blessing us with the faith to believe that walls of inequity can be torn down, and the gaps
between the rich and the poor, the haves and the have-nots, the uneducated and the educated can and
will be closed.

And Lord, lastly, we thank you for favor. We thank you for your divine favor.

And of course, oh Lord, let your divine favor be upon President George W. Bush and First
Lady Laura Welch Bush and their family. We decree and declare that no weapon formed against them
shall prosper. Let your divine favor be upon the Bush team and all Americans.

With the rising of the sun and the going down of the same, may we grow in our willingness and ability
to bless you and bless one another.

We respectfully submit this humble prayer in the name that's above all other names, Jesus the Christ.

Let all who agree say amen.

As we begin a week of prayer vigil for our President and for the elections, we invite you to join with us in asking for the Lord’s will to be done in this election, that His Holy Name might be glorified.

Below are links that provide some specific concerns about which to pray. We would ask that this thread remain a place for prayer and meditation and not a place for political discussion.

There are also some prayer resources at the site linked in the heading of this thread.

Lord God in Heaven,
our Holy God who hears those who fear Him--

Approaching Thy throne through Christ Jesus
Whom the faithful praise, worship, and revere.
It is He who afforded us this opportunity
through His sacrificial work, His atoning death--
through thosedreadful hours He prayed Psalm 22,
enduring the hell of our sins, made sin for us
and commanded us through the apostle Paul to exercise it.

You have been this nation's Provider and Protector.
This country has been a light upon a hill --
different than the ungodly French and Germans.
We have had a Godly heritage --
now that is all threatened by the candidacy of ignoble men, ambitious, ruthless men of low character.
The faithful remnant who entreat Thee so earnestly in prayer (and those who embrace the Judeo-Christian ethic) face a reprobate and treasonous candidate --
and his impious, ungodly Sanhedrim of lawyers. It is not because of petty partisanship that we pray for that would be as wrong as to pray for a baseball team. --
No, it is because we see a stark contrast between good and evil.

We continue to turn our eyes to Thee and from our very depths pray for our President and his victory on Nov. 2. --
May he vanquish the children of Belial. May he defeat the defamer of the noble men who gave their lives fighting for freedom.
May he defeat the friend of the God-hating communists.

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Our shelter from the stormy blast,
And our eternal home.

Under the shadow of Thy throne
Thy saints have dwelt secure;
Sufficient is Thine arm alone,
And our defense is sure.

Before the hills in order stood,
Or earth received her frame,
From everlasting Thou art God,
To endless years the same.

Thy Word commands our flesh to dust,
“Return, ye sons of men:”
All nations rose from earth at first,
And turn to earth again.

A thousand ages in Thy sight
Are like an evening gone;
Short as the watch that ends the night
Before the rising sun.

The busy tribes of flesh and blood,
With all their lives and cares,
Are carried downwards by the flood,
And lost in following years.

Time, like an ever rolling stream,
Bears all its sons away;
They fly, forgotten, as a dream
Dies at the opening day

Like flowery fields the nations stand
Pleased with the morning light;
The flowers beneath the mower’s hand
Lie withering ere ‘tis night.

Our God, our help in ages past,
Our hope for years to come,
Be Thou our guard while troubles last,
And our eternal home.

Amen.

“Come now, and let us reason together,” Says the Lord, “Though your sins are as scarlet, They will be as white as snow; Though they are red like crimson, They will be like wool.
“If you consent and obey, You will eat the best of the land;
“But if you refuse and rebel, You will be devoured by the sword.” Truly, the mouth of the Lord has spoken. - Is 1:18-20

Lord God, our nation is at a point of dire peril. We are about to make a crucial, and very likely irreversible, determination of our destiny, and even our continued existence is in question. And there is a very strong possibility – I would say probability - that we will decide unwisely.

Our immediate concern is obviously how the election breaks. But the truth is that winning this election is not the most important issue before us. For even if that battle is won, if this people does not have a massive change of heart we will eventually lose the war.

What is necessary here is not simply right voting, but revival. America is in dire need of a pouring out of Your Spirit into our hearts and lives. We need the restoration of the family, also with its attendant healthy definition of sexuality. We need a rededication by our churches to purity of worship and unfeigned love of the brethren.

We need a calming of our civic discourse. We need a breaking of the power of untruthful conduits of public information, media sources that have violated their precious public trust. We need the centralized humanist indoctrination of our young people, and its punitive underlying tax structure, to be ended. We need a return of our universities to the open and honest quest for truth and righteousness.

In short, we need a great movement of mercy, forgiveness, healing and restoration at all horizontal levels - individuals, groups and institutions.

And the source of all this, Father, is the restoration of our relationship with You. By the preaching of Your Word, by lives modeling Christlikeness, through the prevening action of Your Spirit, we need the opening of hearts to truth and the beauty of holiness.

Unless we have this, dear Lord, no election results can save us. Unless we have this, we are doomed as a nation: the spirit is gone, the body is dead; it is just a matter of time before it goes cold and stiff.

But with Your help, Lord, we can do all things. We can rebuild our foundations. The hearts of the fathers – and the mothers - and the children can be turned back to each other. The curse can be reversed. With You, all things are possible.

But judgment begins in the house of the Lord. How many who bear Your name will not vote next week? Dare I ask how many will give their vote to an ungodly candidate?

How many innocent ones are dispossessed by family and friends, and wander alone in this world? How many have even given up trying to find mercy and acceptance within a legalistic or apostate church?

Forgive us, Lord, for we are sinful. We are mere men, completely reliant upon You for virtue and strength. Visit Your called-out ones, so that we may again be salt and light to the world.

Be kind to us, Lord, and lead us and our nation in the way we should go, for Your glory's sake, that Truth should not perish from the earth.

For his faith, Father, George W. Bush, our president has been mocked and belittled. He has been called ignorant and unrational

"he that despiseth you despiseth me; and he that despiseth me despiseth him that sent me," (Luke 10:16.)

Heavenly Father, we thank you for the blessings You have given us as citizens of this Great Nation the United States of America, founded on Your Holy principles. Lord we come to You in humbleness and seek Your guidance and wisdom this upcoming election day. Lord we ask for the safety of all of our citizens as they cast their votes, for the safety of those who work at the polls, for the safety of those who serve in our government. We pray for all citizens to seek You out, Lord, to receive You in their hearts, and turn away from their sins. Lord, we ask that each candidate who is elected on November 2, whether in a local or national race, from an elected city official to the Commander-in-Chief of this Great Nation, that each of those elected officials be after Your own heart, Lord, that they truly and sincerely seek to know You, Lord, and follow Your teachings and Your Biblical principles as they fulfill the obligations of elected service to this country. Lord we ask that Your Will be Done on this November 2nd. We ask these things in Jesus' name. Amen

Our Gracious God,

My heart has longed to join your children today in this Place of Prayer, my Loving Father, to entreat You for the Most Bountiful Blessings and Annointing of Your Spirit of Grace to fall upon us during this week of fervent prayer, on behalf of Your servant, our dear brother-President, George Bush. Our souls are knit to him, O God, and long to interceed for him in prayers, fastings and supplications, to present ourselves at his disposal, to wait upon him as his servants, so great is our Love in Christ for him. Command us, O God, and we will will bear him up upon our shoulders, a Mighty Army of Prayer Warriors ordained to lift our brother up above his enemies, and we will bear his burdens to you in prayer; Grant this I pray, O Merciful Savior, O Lord Christ!

O Father our King, Sweet Master, our hearts are trembling somewhat as we behold the Promised Iniquities of Your enemies; the scheduled, massive voter fraud, the Filthy October Surprise yet to be released, and the twenty five thousand Trial Lawyers who stand ready to plunge this Nation into a Nightmare unparallelled in our entire history. Strengthen us, Dearest Lord, with Power sent to us from on High; Your Sovereign Power that cannot be overcome or thwarted! Empower our brother-President, O Great Father Jehovah, that he may walk in the Divine Strength and Invincibility of the King of Creation and Glory!

Send confusion and delusion of mind to Your enemies, our Sovereign Holy One, utterly confounding them, rendering them unable to perform their Planned Iniquities, and judge John Kerry with Your Righteous Judgement for the hundreds of lies he has spew forth in his slanders of our President! May he be covered with shame and humiliation, as Your servant triumphs over him Gloriously in the Strength and Victory of our Lord Jesus Christ!

Thank You for hearing our prayers, Merciful Master, and we Worship You for Your Most Excellent Greatness, Exalting You as our Only God, Savior and King. In the Name of our Christ, and for His Glory we make our requests, amen.

AMEN ALL,THE LORD WILL HEAR THE PRAYERS OF HIS SAINTS!

Ps 143:1 A Psalm of David. Hear my prayer, O LORD, Give ear to my supplications! In Your faithfulness answer me, And in Your righteousness.
2 Do not enter into judgment with Your servant, For in Your sight no one living is righteous.
3 For the enemy has persecuted my soul; He has crushed my life to the ground; He has made me dwell in darkness, Like those who have long been dead.
4 Therefore my spirit is overwhelmed within me; My heart within me is distressed.
5 I remember the days of old; I meditate on all Your works; I muse on the work of Your hands.
6 I spread out my hands to You; My soul longs for You like a thirsty land. Selah
7 Answer me speedily, O LORD; My spirit fails! Do not hide Your face from me, Lest I be like those who go down into the pit.
8 Cause me to hear Your lovingkindness in the morning, For in You do I trust; Cause me to know the way in which I should walk, For I lift up my soul to You.
9 Deliver me, O LORD, from my enemies; In You I take shelter.
10 Teach me to do Your will, For You are my God; Your Spirit is good. Lead me in the land of uprightness.
11 Revive me, O LORD, for Your name's sake! For Your righteousness' sake bring my soul out of trouble.
12 In Your mercy cut off my enemies, And destroy all those who afflict my soul; For I am Your servant.
(NKJV)

Dear Lord,
Your saints gather as the saints who served You before.
david, paul, spurgeon and all of the past and present legion of Your adopted.
Lord,we pray that You watch down on this land for we truly pray this land will continue to be of great honor to You.

Ro 8:33 Who shall bring a charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies.
34 Who is he who condemns? It is Christ who died, and furthermore is also risen, who is even at the right hand of God, who also makes intercession for us.
35 Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or peril, or sword?
36 As it is written: "For Your sake we are killed all day long; We are accounted as sheep for the slaughter."
37 Yet in all these things we are more than conquerors through Him who loved us.
38 For I am persuaded that neither death nor life, nor angels nor principalities nor powers, nor things present nor things to come,
39 nor height nor depth, nor any other created thing, shall be able to separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
(NKJV)

"It is a faithful saying."
- 2 Timothy 2:11

Paul has four of these "faithful sayings." The first occurs in 1 Timothy
1:15, "This is a faithful saying, and worthy of all acceptation, that
Christ Jesus came into the world to save sinners." The next is in 1
Timothy 4:6, "Godliness is profitable unto all things, having the promise
of the life that now is, and of that which is to come. This is a faithful
saying, and worthy of all acceptation." The third is in 2 Timothy 2:12,
"It is a faithful saying-If we suffer with him we shall also reign with
him"; and the fourth is in Titus 3:3, "This is a faithful saying, that
they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works."
We may trace a connection between these faithful sayings. The first one
lays the foundation of our eternal salvation in the free grace of God, as
shown to us in the mission of the great Redeemer. The next affirms the
double blessedness which we obtain through this salvation-the blessings of
the upper and nether springs-of time and of eternity. The third shows one
of the duties to which the chosen people are called; we are ordained to
suffer for Christ with the promise that "if we suffer, we shall also reign
with him." The last sets forth the active form of Christian service,
bidding us diligently to maintain good works. Thus we have the root of
salvation in free grace; next, the privileges of that salvation in the
life which now is, and in that which is to come; and we have also the two
great branches of suffering with Christ and serving with Christ, loaded
with the fruits of the Spirit. Treasure up these faithful sayings. Let
them be the guides of our life, our comfort, and our instruction.
The apostle of the Gentiles proved them to be faithful, they are faithful
still, not one word shall fall to the ground; they are worthy of all
acceptation, let us accept them now, and prove their faithfulness.
Let these four faithful sayings be written on the four corners of my
house.

Hi kayak: I just posted this on the wrong thread so I'm going to try again. Not in real good shape right now.

I have a special request. My beloved Wolfhound has just been diagnosed with Lymphoma. I've decided to do chemo, and I need your help please.

I know how busy you all are, and I know there are such important things for you to be praying for, but if you could please pray for my Jamie, I would be so grateful.

Father, Lord God in Heaven

It has been well reported on this website and on the news that the candidate, Kerry, has 10,000 lawyers ready to go at a moment's notice to cause havok and confusion, and baseless accusations.. There are private jets fueled and set to take off. Kerry even plans to proclaim victory regardless of election returns.

It reminds us of another weasly candidate for office,
a flatterer, a self-promoter, an elitist, with no thought of God's will.

But Absalom sent spies
throughout all the tribes of Israel,
saying,
"As soon as you hear the sound of the trumpet,
then you shall say,
'" Absalom ( ie. not David) . . .
is king in Hebron."

Posturers and frauds continue today
as they did in the past.

(And they still remain ever so proud of their hair.)

Frustrate his plans, Lord God, for we ask that our prayer be received in Christ. May, the traitor Kerry pay the price for his dastardly acts of 1971 -- for You are not a God who forgets the evil done to others. Forget not the evil done by Fonda, Kerry, Hayden, and the Vietnam Veterans Against the War.
