I've never posted a negative word about Bush and the Bush campaign people, but this whole incident is really bothering me. On top of the slander about Tora Bora, it seems like the Bush people are incapable of responding to these types of attacks on how the war was conducted. Within 3 hours of an attack, they need to get someone out front and center saying that Kerry is attacking our military, and the military did a fine job and did not botch things the way Kerry alleges. I don't understand how the Bush people can be so clueless. They don't need time to "verify" stuff like this. And, don't tell me that they are delaying for strategic reasons, to make the response even stronger----to trap Kerry----I'm getting tired of that answer

-they might as well wait until next Wednesday, November 3rd, and then deliver a really good response.
OK Bush team, you've had since Sunday night. Where is your response on this. How many more days of early voting have to elapse before you get your act together?

Chill. The response is going fine. It appears that soldiers in the field are responding. What could possibly make Kerry look more like a snake?

FNC said that Bush-Cheney 04 doesn't want to spend the ladt days of the campaign refuting evidence, but rather pushing their agenda. "Stay on the offensive, not the defensive."

I wish Bush would personally respond to these attacks soon, Talk Radio just doesn't cut it, it just preaches to the choir.

If I were Karl Rove for this week...

Slow play the hand.
The facts are there, and the word is getting out in a hurry.
Let the media jump in circles for a few days, and wait until the noise level decreases. You want an open stage to ensure the message is clear and that it is heard.
Thurs/Fri release the truth, and hopefully include dates of briefings for the Senate Intel committee.
Nail the door shut and leave them less time to focus on their last ditch weekend. If played right this story, and the hard facts that are easily available (google is your friend) can dominate the Sunday talk shows, and stifle a focus shift by the libs in the next week. The trick is to make them eat this one.

I am not worried about this story. It is destructing and it is hurting Kerry / the left more than Bush. Once again the fact that the major media is in bed with Kerry is showing. Another good thing about this story is that it was a pretty weak October surprise to begin with. Is that the best they can do? Recycle a year old baseless story that couldn’t even stand for 3 hours? I believe this story is showing Iraq was a danger. They were moving/hiding weapons before we arrived. What else did they move / hide? WMD?

I'm sure Bush has a reason that he does not respond right away. I bet it is because the Rats are trying to get him in a defense mode (where they throw out charges and he has to defend) instead of staying on his message. This is all strategy. It is easy for us to say he should come out with a defense right away, but that may be exactly what the Rats want him to do to get off message and show that he sustained a political hit from their BS.

CNN) -- With events moving closer to a possible war with Iraq, here is a look at some of the latest developments around the world:

MORE INSPECTIONS SUNDAY: U.N. inspection teams Sunday fanned out across Iraq to at least six different sites. According to the Iraqi Ministry of Information, a missile team went to the Al Mutasim company, a government missile plant occupying the grounds of a former nuclear facility where missiles are tested; a chemical team visited a chemical production facility at the Al Basil Center, part of a military complex; chemical inspectors headed toward the Al Qaqaa complex in Yousefiya; a biological team went to Babil University's College of Medicine in Babil; nuclear inspectors visited Baghdad University's College of Engineering; and a joint team went to Hitteen, a site for ammunition and armaments, and the storage of explosives and chemicals.

Kerry and the MSM would love a snap reaction for two reasons:

1. If there are any slight errors in the response from Bush, THAT will then become the story -- "Bush is an idiot and out of touch with what his own evil administration is doing." Always remember, the playing field on the MSM is not even, we must always be perfect in what we say. Kerry can get away with any mistake, any error, Bush must be absolutely perfect all the time, and;

2. Kerry and the MSM would endlessly love jerking Bush around and driving him off message with their charges. The moment they know that THEY get to call the shots with Bush (that he'll drop everything to respond immediately), then they know they have him -- they can jerk his chain all the way to the election.

Nope, this is being handled just right. Don't let them call the shots. Don't let them think they can tow you around by the nose.

You know - the net and it's bloggers and diggers have done a pretty fair job of uncovering the left's crap - BUT

Not all voters have internet access - and as the MSM don't tend to pick up on anything pro-Bush, those same voters don't get to hear much about such stories.

I really wonder what the campaign's job is - if they can't refute the BS going around - it DOES do damage.

It's really shameful that the Bush/Cheney 2004 campaign has not complied with your personal suggestions on how a national presidential campaign should be conducted.

Clearly your ability to post messages on an internet site should be more than sufficient to convince the GOP powers that you, and you alone, are the ultimate source of all opinions that matter.

Count me equally disgusted in their silly oversight.

I couldn't agree with you more. I can't understand why Bush is letting Kerry get away with this. The major thing I can't understand regarding no WMD - is that we knew Saddam had them - he used them - and he never showed any proof that he got rid of them. Why is it so hard to say that they aren't hidden somewhere - or carted out of the country? Bush is passive about letting everyone believe that they couldn't be there anymore.

Simple logic....

If he doesn't get out there soon - he will lose....

I say let Kerry dig a deeper hole first. He's in panic mode. We've actually got him saying that Iraq has massive amounts of explosives that can do America harm. Bingo, Mr. Kerry. Hence the war.

Although I have never posted, I have followed this forum for many years. This is the first time that I have been overwhelmed by the need to vent, and believe me, I have been close quite a few times.

Pushforbush, you have expressed my sentiments exactly.

G.W. and the home team are using knives in a gun fight. The response time to very easily refuted accusations are painfully slow. By the time the Bush team gets around to responding to a totally fabricated attack, there is another attack to respond to and the effect of his response to the previous one is completely diminished.

I don't care how many talking heads come to the rescue and make the case for Bush, there is nothing like hearing it from the horses mouth.

Kerry has been able to accuse Bush of being incompetent, a liar and a draft dodger with impunity.

The Bush responses remain the same. Kerry is a flip-flopper with no moral conviction.

In my opinion, the only serious damage being done to Kerry are what he and his wife are doing to themselves.

Thank God for the Swift Boat Vets.Without them, I think that our situation could possibly be in extremely dire straits.

I am sorry that my first post is such a pessimistic one, but I have never seen such a coordinated effort by all that oppose us, willing to do or say anything to win.

I pray that they do not prevail.

Take Care,
Buddy M

The President has answered Tora Bora - and so has Tommy Franks.

The President didn't need to "respond" on this because the PENTAGON already did.

i cover Cheney's response. Cheney makes the points.

Unlike Kerry, Bush didnt jump to conclusions here,
and instead the send out RNC letter asking *us* to step forward and respond to the media.

C'mon people, if Team W responded to every hunk of poo that the dems have flung over the past 4 years, he wouldn't have time to say anything else.

This will take care of itself, just like the forgery/fabrication from CBS did. When that happens, and it will be today, tomorrow, or the next day, our guy will look like he his above this petty gamesmanship.

Just work to get everyone to the polls that you can, and keep on praying!
