Kerry wants answers on missing explosives
PORTSMOUTH, New Hampshire (AFP) - Democrat challenger John Kerry's campaign Monday demanded answers from President George W. Bush about the disappearance of nearly 400 tonnes of conventional explosives in Iraq, as the deadlocked White House race entered its final week. In a campaign underpinned by the basic question of who will make Americans safer, the Kerry camp pounced on revelations of the missing explosives, on a day when it also expects a boost from the return of former president Bill Clinton to the campaign trail.
"Today, the Bush administration must answer for what may be the most grave and catastrophic mistake in a tragic series of blunders in Iraq," senior Kerry advisor Joe Lockhart said in a statement dispatched before sunrise.
"How did they fail to secure nearly 380 tons of known, deadly explosives despite clear warnings from the International Atomic Energy Agency to do so? Why was this information unearthed by reporters -- and was it covered up by our national security officials?"

The good news is that NBC has already reported it on the evening news. I expect they will follow up, since it's their reporter that was there, it's in their interest to play it up. Since ABC and CBS have taken big hits lately it might help them. So we'll have CNN, FOX and NBC at least plus the internet and talk radio, that should get to a big part of the population.

From the CNN story:
"In a shameless attempt to cover up its failure to secure 380 tons of highly explosive material in Iraq, the White House is desperately flailing in an effort to escape blame," Lockhart said. "It is the latest pathetic excuse from an administration that never admits a mistake, no matter how disastrous."
Lockhart did not elaborate on how the Bush campaign was distorting the NBC report.
Hey, Lockhart... tell us again: WHO won't admit their mistakes???

Not true anymore. I read just last week that Cable/Satelite is in the majority of homes now, with broadcast only homes falling to something like 30%.

It's 3 am ET in Atlanta, and CBS News "Up To The Minute" program, is showing a report by their White House reporter, John Roberts. I think it's a replay of his report that was on the CBS evening news. No mention at all of Drudge's report. Nothing!
John Roberts finishes the report by saying, "Senator Kerry intends to play up the lost explosives for the remainder of the campaign, using it as a metaphor for all that's wrong with the Bush administration."

CBS also reports that the 380 tons of missing explosives are enough to set off a nuclear device ( other Kerry Lewinskiing MSM outlets are reporting the same ) . If a country's nuclear engineers are so incompetent that they need that much to set off a nuke, then we have nothing to worry about.

After viewing this documentary I ask this question, how is
it this man is running for president instead of facing
trial for treason?

Even better:
[The source behind the NYT story first went to CBSNEWS' 60 MINUTES last Wednesday, but the beleaguered network wasn't able to get the piece on the air as fast as the newspaper could print. Executive producer Jeff Fager hoped to break the story during a high-impact election eve broadcast of 60 MINS on October 31.]
If Drudge has proof of that, that's HUGE.
