Here's a new ad the Security Moms will be placing in Ohio and Florida. (BTW they need donations too)
If I put this in the wrong categories, someone let me know.
With just one week to go until the election, SM4B and WISP, are concentrating on the battleground states that will determine the number of electoral votes needed for victory. They are urging moms to contact friends and family in states like Florida, Ohio, New Jersey and Pennsylvania to get-out-the-vote. Moms are being encouraged to travel to key states to lend support at rallies and phone banks.
In 2000, 68% of married women voted, while just 52% of unmarried did. A recent Gallup Poll indicates that most single women support John Kerry while married women intend to vote for President Bush by nearly 2-to 1. If a majority of married women go to the polls November 2nd with security as their #1 issue they could be the group that determines the outcome of the presidency.
SM4B and WISP plan to run advertisements in Florida and Ohio, two of the most closely-watched battleground states.
Very effective.
How to get that in EVERY paper by next monday?
Or how about just the Enquirer?
Great ad! Really says a lot -
Thanks for the post - Ranks right up there with the words used to express what a lot of Americans know to be true in their hearts -
Yes, I thought they did an awesome job. They are a very busy group of women. Very busy.
"How to get that in EVERY paper by next monday?"
What about flooding the internet with it too.
Copy and paste, then send it in email to lots of friends...and hopefully they'll do the same.
It's a great ad.
If lots of FReepers did this, it could really make the rounds all over the country through email.
...In 2000, 68% of married women voted, while just 52% of unmarried did...
That would indicate means 60 percent of all eligible women vote. Scary...
Whooosh! (is that fire shooting out at me here)?
Ha. Bad knews for sKerry since Bush has a larger percentage of the womens vote this year supposedly (not to mention that women outnumber men in the first place).
Is there a similar poll for how married and unmarried men vote? I'd like to see that.
BTW, it's a great ad.
They did say to email this to all of your family and friends.
Consider it done.
Great ad!
Great ad. I just sent the ad to my entire e-mail list. Even my LIBERAL friends. I think it's really effective and forceful without being hysterical. Great job Security Moms. I salute you and consider myself one of you.
Bump!!
EXCELLENT!!!!!
The atmosphere of this ad reminds me of that scene in the film version of PATRIOT GAMES where, after the Irish terrorists have been barely thwarted in their attempt to kill Jack Ryan and his family, followed up with a mocking call to him about taking better care of his family, his wife, who has overheard his end of the conversation, says something like: "They'll never leave us alone, will they? Do what you have to, Jack. I don't care what; just get them!"
Up to that point, she dreaded his return to CIA service. Next day, he's down at headquarters, inaugurating a relentless pursuit of these self-declared enemies.
Some people get it: 9/11 was a declaration of war. Others are still living in lala land.
The sentence structure here could use some tweaking. Since we are the enemy of terror it sounds like we're fighting ourselves. How about -
It's about fighting the hateful, vile enemy that is terror THERE, so we don't face them HERE ...again.
Just a thought.
security mom ping
It needs to be in the supermarket weeklies like "The Star" and "Women's World" (I think that's the name). You know, all those newspapers that are at every checkout line. Those papers would likely be purchased by women who might have considered not bothering to vote this year, yet reading that ad might spur them on.
