A quick look at the schedules indicate that Kerry is in trouble:
Kerry schedule (71% in Blue states):
Mon: PA Tues: WI, NM, NV Wed: 2 stops in IA, and MN Thur: OH
Bush schedule (78% in blue states):
Tues: Cuba City, WI, Onalaski, WI, and IA Wed: PA, OH, and MI Thur: MN, OH, & PA
Severin is a libertarian hack. Furthermore, he lives and works in Boston. There's two strikes against him. Don't place any faith in him.
While I read that there is an Assoc of Arabs/Muslims who are endorsing and voting for sKerry. I also read that there are Iraqis who are totally supporting our Pres. Not sure he'll get the number of American-Arabs votes he did in 2000, but I tend to think (hope) that it won't be as one-sided as some may have us believe.
Onalaska one day and the Twin Cities the next. That's like getting two for one! Onalaska is by LaCrosse, on the east side of the Mississippi just across from Minnesota; and the Twin Cities' news market covers western Wisconsin including Eau Claire, Hudson, and Menomonie. Go Bush!
I'm pretty sure the poster meant they'd be in red states instead of blue states.
Sorry, and to think, I'm from the frozen tundra originally!
It's fun living in a battleground state. Being a republican in Minnesota has always meant that we never saw the GOP candidates since the state always went for the Dems. But now that we are getting parity with the Dimocrats, we relish the attention, and are having fun going to the Bush rallies! My niece and her 4 kids went to one in Green Bay this summer; then I went to one in St. Paul in August; then he came to my hometown in September, but I was in Germany; however, another niece her husband and 4 daughters went to see him; then two weeks ago he was in Chanhassen and my brother and his wife, son, daughter-in-law and grandson, age 7, got to see the POTUS up close. WOW. We are having a good time up here in the north country. The energy at these rallies is tremendous.
Votes haven't been counted, but numbers turning out and their party registrations are known. That should really hose the exit polls on Tuesday.
I pity Kerry less in his campaign travels because he doesn't have anything else to do anyway. The President has a 24/7 job, unlike senators from MA.
Aces and eights-dead mans hand
I read this for years and wondered how the campaign polls achieve greater accuracy. Could you explain to me what is different about those internal polls? Do they use a larger sample size or different methods? Why can't the media do the same?
Or Mondale in Minnesota.
They are mostly staying in the eastern and central time zones. That's not enough difference to cause many problems.
That would help increase his showing the the popular vote and help Republicans down the ballot in those states.
But conversely he isn't campaigning in many states Bush carried by slim margins. He pulled out of WV.
Clinton wanted to go to PA, he isn't really "helping" KErry. :) he he he
I'm sure Philly taxpayers just loved that.
Tell them you voted for Nader. It's none of their damned business, and the exit polls are used as propaganda to depress Republican turnout in western states.
I think it is good for both W and Republican candidates like Coors who are running in the state. If anything, W was trying to help elect another Republican senator.
Polls close where? The east coast is 3 hours ahead of the west coast. The MSM can manipulate which results they release to affect voting in states that are still voting in other time zones. Remember in 2000 the called FL when they should not have. They were slow to call W in states he carried comfortably like OH and VA while being fast to call important states Gore carried by smaller margins like PA. I think there should be a nationwide poll closing time. That way east coast results would not be used to affect voting in western states. If the Pacific time zone delayed going off daylight savings time till after the election, there would only be a two hour differnce between the east coast and west coast on election day.
If you're asking "How do I know that the campaigns do independent polling that is better than the mass media polls" the answer is easy... I used to work in politics as a congressional aid and this is no secret to those who work in or around campaigns."
