The Campaigns have their OWN polling. which historically is MUCH more accurate. I read this for years and wondered how the campaign polls achieve greater accuracy. Could you explain to me what is different about those internal polls? Do they use a larger sample size or different methods? Why can't the media do the same?

Why can't the media do the same?
It costs MONEY...
The polls run in the media are a courtesy... They're a snapshot, and they're done for profits... CNN pays Gallup X million dollars to provide polling data through the election cycle... Because Gallup is a "famous" name in polling. Accuracy is not a big deal... Thus its in Gallup's interest to do the polling for as CHEAP as possible... PROFIT MOTIVE.
The Internal polls are motivated by accuracy, not profit...
The pollster who gets the contract promises ACCURACY, and campaigns pay for it... If the poll turns out to be WRONG on election day, that pollster is done.
