He is expected to be back at work on November 1st. That is a remarkable timetable for recovery from throat cancer surgery. He will probably have a trach in his throat and be on pain-killers.

That's because it's such an important story. This election reminds me of a Peretti novel where we see evidence on earth of the heavenly battle taking place.

If he's back on November 1, then he can vote on any election cases that come before the court.

He is expected to be back at work on November 1st.

He is 80,and hospitals are dangerous places.

I don't think so. It is not likely he will recover quickly.

We will need a new chief Justice appointed and the first order on business for our prez will be the supreme court.

This has been coming for some time.

As a sufferer of Grave's Disease (hyperthyroidism), I've read a lot of material on thyroid disorders. While I had my thyroid destroyed via radiation thereapy, I luckily did not have thyroid cancer. However, if you're gonna get cancer, thyroid cancer is usually the most treatable form you can get, and it seldom spreads.

First Tenet of War: Never underestimate the Enemy.

I still think that a sKerry administration would try to put Hillary, Ted K., or Al Gore on the bench. Especially if, God Forbid, they could win the Senate too. Imagine, sKerry in the White House, Hillary on the Bench, Slick Willie in the UN.....could it possibly get any worse?

cancer of thyroid is no big deal, usually. It is slow growing and stays local.

Don't worry, that will never happen. Bill Clinton cannot become Sec. Gen. of the UN because he is American and the UN does not have Permanent Security Council Members as leaders.

Hillary Clinton is simply not qualified to be a Supreme Court Justice and would never be nominated.

That is, perhaps, the best analogy anyone could make. Good call.
