FReepers Against Voter Fraud - (What Are YOU Doing To Prevent It?)
Various | October 23, 2004 | sweetliberty

You would think that after the nightmare that was the 2000 election, all the stops would have been pulled out to make sure it didn't happen again. It seems that what has happened instead, is that a certain party has seized on it as an opportunity to fine tune their election fraud techniques. Already stories abound of vote swapping, buying and selling, of "mistakes" on the absentee ballots and "problems" resolving conflicts about who would actually be on the ballot that have prevented absentee ballots reaching our troops serving overseas in a timely manner. There are stories of tens of thousands of people who are registered in more than one place, of hordes of democrats blocking polling places to Republicans. There are stories of registrations in some areas far exceeding eligible voters, and democrats kicking and screaming over any measure that would require voters to prove eligibility and/or citizenship. We have John Kerry hiring hordes of lawyers, no doubt on taxpayer money, to challenge election results, even if Bush is the clear winner. You have organizations circulating memos and guidelines for disenfrancising the military and for accusing Republicans of intimidation tactics. We have swarms of democrats actually going into the prisons and registering voters who have no legal right to vote. And on it goes, not even taking into account the standard graveyard vote and politicking from the pulpits of black democrat churches.

So FRiends, it gets worse with every election cycle...and it is pretty darned discouraging. It is hard to play by the rules when you're playing against people who think the rules don't apply to them. As discouraging as it is, though, we're all we've got. It is up to us to do whatever we can to prevent election fraud.

What can you do? You can first be on the alert and report any irregularities you might observe. You can have a group stake out parking lots of polling places with cameras and notebooks, taking pictures and taking notes, especially where busloads of people show up at polling places. If the same busload of people showed up in several polling places, that would be a way to document the fraud in a way that would almost require criminal charges. Of course, there is the 100 feet (or is it 150?) rule, but that's not a big deal.

You can also sign up to be a pollwatcher. Pollwatchers are universally hated by democrats, which suggests that they serve a vital function in exposing fraud and insisting that the rules be followed. Call your local campaign headquarters and ask how to sign up to be a pollwatcher. It routinely involves a couple of hours training, and there is always a shortage of pollwatchers. You might also sign up to be a poll worker, poll closer or to count absentee ballots, again through your local campaign headquarters.

If you're a member of any group, whether church, civic or social, ask others in your group to be alert to the prevalence of voter fraud, especially in certain areas, and encourage them to report any irregularities they might observe.

Be creative. Talk to people. Get involved as much as you are able. And pray. It is one thing for a bad candidate to be honestly elected, in which case, the people get what they deserve, but it is something altogether different when one candidate is so bad and so unscrupulous that he will do anything to win, and we already know that John Kerry is such a candidate. It is up to us to prevent it.

No, I live in Harris County, Texas where almost every elected official is Republican and all statewide offices are held by Republicans. IMHO, there is a lot of political infighting for personal power and influence within the party. The county Republican organization is too lame to even call the volunteers and get them assigned to help campaigns. When Steve Stockman upset Rep. Jack Brooks in 1994 Steve mobilized an incredible 2000 volunteers to get the job done.

I can offer this idea: Voter fraud ought to be treated like terrorism in that the Bush Doctrine is applied. To wit: states that don't ensure that it DOES NOT happen will be repsonsible and penalized. I don't even know if that's legal, but if it is, it would incentivize the states to get serious about policing voter fraud.

Miss Edie, you probably remember that the SC 6th district was gerrymandered by court order some years back to create a black majority district, so as to provide representation for African-Americans. That makes the 6th virtually a fiefdom-for-life for the Hon. Rep. Clyburn.

One precinct appeared to be clean as a whistle, or at least it was clean after one poll watcher contested a ballot early on. The poll worker was called out to the voter's car to help a handicapped person. But that help included holding the hand that was punching the ballot with the stylus.

So what happened? Did anyone witness voter fraud? Did your state use paper ballots or computers?

Geez, Bush wins and everyone is satified.
