Kristinn just called. He's setting up for the "Iraqi Rally to Thank America" discussed at:
http://www.freerepublic.com/focus/f-news/1253878/posts
Kristinn's by his lonesome so far and would welcome some FReeper company, especially if you can get there by 12:30, when the first reporters are expected.
SATURDAY, OCTOBER 23, 2004, 1 P.M. TO 4 P.M.
LAFAYETTE PARK, 16TH & H ST., NW, WASH., D.C.
The D.C. Chapter "is sponsoring a rally with Iraqi leaders from across the country to demonstrate the deep appreciation of the Iraqi-American community for the leadership of President Bush in liberating their country from the terrorist dictator Saddam Hussein. The Iraqis will also be offering their gratitude to the American people for the sacrifices they have made to fight terrorists in Iraq and around the world. Muslim clerics and secular leaders, including several who have been to Iraq since the fall of Saddam, will be speaking. They will be joined on stage by former Rep. Bob Dornan and other Americans who share their belief that the U.S. must stay the course in Iraq."
Kristinn's already making an impact. A woman with two young children walked by, read the signs, and thanked kristinn for doing this. She said she would return for the rally itself at 1pm.
As kristinn starting bringing out his signs, a French TV crew wandering by the White House asked what he was doing. Told there will be an Iraqi rally this afternoon, the French asked, "Protesting the war?" "No," kristinn, replied, "Thanking America for liberating them."
Good Luck Guys. I'm in the heart of Socialism today (Mass) or I'd be there!!!
My Prayers will be there but I will unfortunately be here! I'm sure the 'only bad news allowed' stance the media has taken has hurt our President. This rally and the soon coming documentary called 'Voices of Iraq' will change a lot of minds about Iraq!!! I just hope those uninformed masses haven't all voted early.
Go kristinn!!!
Kristinn, You are a Freeper Hero. If I weren't in Texas, I'd be there.
MSM won't give this 2 seconds of coverage.
Ping to #8 regarding media presence.
Thank you for posting and God bless Kristinn for all he does on behalf of goodness and truth.
The Iraqi people have been through so much. It means a lot that this group came together to thank America.
