WASHINGTON - Bill Clinton has always had a flair for political drama. Now it looks like his just-in-time recovery from heart surgery, allowing him to campaign for John Kerry in the elections closing days, may provide a jolt of excitement that any candidate would covet. Democratic strategist Donna Brazile says she started getting phone calls and e-mail as soon as word got out about Clintons planned appearance Monday with Kerry in Philadelphia, with messages like: Hes back! The Comeback Kid! She predicts a great, electrifying last week of the campaign.

The MSM will go into journalistic orgasm, but nothing will mobilize republican voters more than to have Bill Clinton in the spotlight. And think how weak this makes Kerry look...as if he needs Bill Clinton in order to beat Bush.

And still no actual quotes from BJC.
I suspect the Kerry kamp is kidding themselves that it's
a sure thing BJ will:
a. show up, and
b. actually be helpful
> ... his just-in-time recovery from heart surgery ...
It's not at all clear this is true.
It could be that the Kerry people are fielding the story
just to try and get some sort of bounce from the story,
and turn that into momentum. Doesn't seem to be happening,
and it may all cause further loss if BJ doesn't show.

Last time Clinton helped a fellow Democrat, he lost. (Gray Davis)Didn't Clinton 'help' the Dem governor candidate in FL in 2002 also?

I have no love for Bill Clinton, but he just had heart surgery for crying out loud. Are they so desperate they'd drag him out on the stump? They are truly pathetic people. Laura had it right.

Great point! That should be the buzzword of the week for the Kerry campaign: Gray Davis. All this talk of Kerry and Clinton teaming up with Clinton as head of the UN is going to hurt Kerry. It would kill the UN if Clinton tried such a power grab.
To: John W
Heh. No matter what the outcome, Kerry loses. Pretty smart of Clinton.
If Kerry gains in the polls, he's seen widely as Clinton's lapdog...if Kerry loses in the polls, Hitlery's way is paved--and the line of the LameStream media will not blame Impeached42, but Kerry.

The thing the rats refuse to understand is that after 9-11 Bubba would never get elected again.
Pole's have shown people hold him much more responsble for the attacks than they do President Bush and they have no faith he would even respond if he were in office.

On balance, Clinton campaigning for dems in 2000 and 2002 didn't work very well at all. what in the world makes them think it will work now?
Clinton has been the kiss of death for the Democrat Party. Images of "Sore-Loserman", blue dress, cigars, Pyronies Desease, aspirin factory bombing, a cruise missile into a tent hitting a camel's butt, more time spent with Lewinsky than Tenet, Rose Law Firm, Ft. Marcy Park, etc, etc.
This may be the Clinton version of Kerry's October surprise. Clinton will certainly tank Kerry, setting the stage for Hillary's coronation in 2008.
Let's keep the adults in charge.

This is good news!!! Slick is such a media hog, the only thing he'll do is steal the limelight from John F'n Kerry. It will do nothing to stir the rank and file for Kerry, they will just be depressed wishing Bubba could run again....
