Bank accounts freezed for Al Qaida links: [World News]: Dhaka, Oct 22 : Bangladesh has frozen four bank accounts of two international organisations for suspected links with Al Qaoda or Taliban, the New Age reported Friday.

The accounts of Al-Haramain Islamic Foundation and Benevolence International were frozen as the UN has listed them for suspected links with Al Qaida or Taliban, the newspaper reported.

Both organisations are registered with the NGO Affairs Bureau but are currently inactive in Bangladesh, bank sources said.

The Bangladesh Bank has already cautioned banks and financial institutions about accounts with suspected links with Al Qaida or Taliban.

Take your pick ...
Al Qaeda
However they want to spell it I wish they'd put a "u" after the "q" like civilized society. ;-)

Wonder what the quid pro quo was. Maybe the world is realizing GW will be president for another four years and plans to kick butt.

Believe it or not, different people and organizations have different (commonly accepted) ways of spelling for this particular organization. Any time I acquire information on this organization, I quite deliberately use the two primary spellings as reference tags for this opposition force in case someone is looking for information using merely only one or the two primary wordings.

Always remember, this is just one example.

The "Anaconda" principle is not just one merely relegated to an almost already-forgotten operation in Afghanistan...

My primary objective is not to correct typographical or grammatical errors as I look at every new document or article. I dig through tons of this material, and sometimes I am personally astonished at the supreme disregard that some have for the English language, or at the very least, the lack of technical training for an overseas "media" outlet. I wonder what they pay their editors? ...

It is almost as if they roll the proverbial dice and just "wing it." .... To use a minor example, when I observe the ongoing Taiwan Straits issue, I find many examples. I quote the original sources verbatim. I typically do not post on every region or item of "concern" either. The official NK news agency is polished for such a backwards country yet, of course, they trip, and make their inevitable mistakes. Pakistan and Afghanistan are countries of vital importance at this time, however.

I, personally, have "other objectives", and correcting some of the overseas journalists' errors is not one of them. I always have and always will quote original source documentation without alteration to whoever I pass any information gleaned along to. You guessed it that also includes the very titles of articles.

You are one of those few, elite, Intelligent enough to at least see that I was quoting the original source, which is what I endeavor to do best ….

Victory, at all costs. Victory....

A suggestion in this type of situation would be to have used this: "Bank accounts freezed (sic) for Al...etc"

I've heard that the Bangladesh bank mentioned in the article is located in a 50 story building.
