Bogus Voter Registration in Atlanta
Atlanta Journal-Constitution ^ | 10/20/04 | Carlos Campos

Posted on 10/21/2004 6:38:44 AM PDT by tadellin

Fulton County elections officials suspect they received as many as 3,000 bogus voter registration applications collected illegally in exchange for money.

The applications were submitted to the Georgia secretary of state's office in September by Unity '04, a national group working in Atlanta with civil rights leader the Rev. Joseph Lowery to register African-American voters.

A state lawyer forwarded two boxes of the applications to Fulton officials, with a letter warning that some of the applications appeared to have been filled out in the same handwriting and contained numerous errors, including incorrect Social Security numbers and addresses.

It is a misdemeanor in Georgia to provide false information on a voter registration application.

The chief of voter registration for Fulton County, John Sullivan, said he suspects the group might have been paying workers per application to register voters, which also is a misdemeanor.

In an Oct. 11 memo to his supervisor, Sullivan said the "fraudulent applications I believe were a product of greed, not an effort to affect the outcome of the election."

Oh! It was only greed- not election manipulation and the disenfranchisement of 3000 legal voters.

I am so relieved.

I think that when a voter registration is found to be fraudulent they should leave the voter on the rolls and have it tagged in the book at the polling place. And when someone comes in and attempts to vote under that registration they should be arrested.

(Ms. Kaiser Sose): "Listen, Short one, do not worry about Sandy Berger or the Georgia problem.
We STILL control thousands of FBI files
... I mean 'badges of honor'.
No one will DARE report or touch this.
And now we also have FBI files ... I mean 'badges of honor' on the vote-counters.
The voters don't make the vote. The vote-counters do.
Now go bring out our dead.

going to take alot more than 3000 fake voters in Georgia. We'll beat Kerry by 3000 alone in Cherokee Co, heck we'll beat Kerry by 3000 in Towne Lake Subdivision.

It is a misdemeanor in Georgia to provide false information on a voter registration application. The chief of voter registration for Fulton County, John Sullivan, said he suspects the group might have been paying workers per application to register voters, which also is a misdemeanor.

I think part of the problem is that actively engaging in fraudulent voter registration activities is only a misdemeanor in Georgia.

I don't think Georgia is fooling around on this one. They were already discussing the charges on the news this morning.

You've heard me say this before...
The local Democrat politicians have gotten away with this kind of vote gathering for so many decades in the Chicago/Detroit areas that the DNC, DESPERATE at this point, is now "going National!"

I want to see some tough national laws of voting card registration passed after this election. I want tough laws imposed on cheaters. And I want this fool proof micro-chip identification. Enough is enough already.

Voter registration drives should be illegal.

If a person does not have the motivation to get registered herself, then he should not vote.

Chances are that this person is ill-informed and easily coerced.

Just imagine a voter registration questionnaire, similar to the AIDS screen for blood donations:

"Have you at any time since 1978 engaged in voter registration for money or drugs?"

I think there is more than just 3,000 illegal voter registration cards. I saw that the last election in Georgia was won by 300,000 for GWB however, there has been 300,000 new voters registered this year. Funny how the number is very close to what GWB won by last year and approximately 40,000 new voters coming from Fulton County (Democratic stronghold)! I wonder how much investigation is going to take place with the person in charge of elections in Georgia is a well known Democrat!
