I am listening to Rush. He is always so optimistic about the future of conservatism and the GOP. He is certainly a talent but I am wondering if his predictions in 1992 and 1996 were wrong.

He's been wrong each time he said 'I do.'
Okay. Cheap shot. :-)

He was confident that Hillary wouldn't run for the Senate.

He was emphatic that Clinton would collapse in 92.
It's Rush's job to keep our spirits and motivation high, and he does that well. He's been wrong before.
To: NotchJohnson
I am not lsitening to him now. What predictions are you talking about?

Actually when he predicted economic collapse when Clinton was elected and the tax increases were passed, he was wrong.
But it should be noted that Congress was taken over by the Pubs in 1994 and that saved the day.

He was also confident that the 2000 election would be a blowout for Bush.

Rush thought Bush would win by a comfortable margin in 2000.

He did not say "prediction" but he makes the case that Dems are jsut tripping over their feet unable to do anything right.

His biggest blown call was his final words before going on vacation in January 1991- "no war". He had to return to the airwaves early with egg on his face when Operation Desert Storm began.
To: texasmountainman
Mark Steyn (peace and blessings be upon him) thought so too.
To: NotchJohnson
He thought the NY press would chew up Hillary during her run for Senate. Instead they have yet to ask her a hard question.

No, I appreciate his optimism and it is a great change from anything in print or tv. Rush is currently bringing attention to teh Breck girl preening himself on video. That will be an internet favorite.
To: BibChr
I almost recall the exact quote from his Election Day '92 broadcast. It was the last sentence of his closing comment, just before the 3:00 news:
"Folks, trust me on this-it's Bush by 3."
But I didn't believe it.
