On FNC now...
That's why those little planes scare me more. The disintegration part.
She Who Must Be Obeyed is on the west side of downtown -- she was oblivious.

Update from AJC.com:
Sgt. John Quigley said the six-seat Beech Baron that had just left the DeKalb-Peachtree Airport bound for Venice, Fla., crashed at Edgewood Avenue and Boulevard.
The aircraft crashed into the Edgewood Collision auto body shop. The business owner, Noman Rashid, said four workers were in the shop at the time but none was injured.
He arrived a few minutes after the crash.
"My man was in the back and the plane crashed into the office. The plane is on fire. It blew up. The plane is on fire and the building is on fire."
The fire caused by the crash was quickly extinguished, said Bill May, spokesman for the Atlanta Fire Department.
There were two people on board the twin-engine Beechcraft 55 plane when it crashed at 10:55 a.m., said FAA spokesman Christopher White.
The plane is registered to J&R Aircraft Inc. of Nokomis, Fla. White said he did not know if there was a distress call from the plane before the crash.
Police have closed most streets in the area, and MARTA has rerouted buses routes 3, 17, and 99 because of the crash.
Witnesses said the plane spun out of control before hitting the building. A rain storm was moving through the city at the time.
According to WSB-TV, the pilot of the plane was killed.
Atlanta police have asked for a medical examiner at the scene, which usually means someone has been killed.
The Associated Press contributed to this story.
You aren't one of those folks who want PDK closed, are you? [g]
I had a Baron for 10 years, now a 310. the Baron holds up to 6 people. Nice flying plane, but can get into a unrecoverable flat spin if you stall it with an engine out. If it was climbing out from a recent take off, and lost an engine, especially in bad weather......
Sad
You know, that is one of the many things I like about FR.
When someone says something really thoughtless (#8), they get jumped on like ugly on an ape...as they should.
Prayers for anyone involved in this horrible accident.
They must interview 100 people just to find that 1 guy to put on air.

Plane Down Near Downtown Atlanta
Local resident George White told 11Alive News, "I was checking my mailbox... All of a sudden I heard a noise like 'errrrr, errrrrr' and here come a big ol', twin-engine plane falling out of the sky.""I ran to the scene and everything was on fire. I mean buildings, grass... I saw people crying. I saw buildings on fire. I saw fire in the water...and it was popping and it was chaos," White said.
General Aviation safety is about at an all time high.
It's just you.
Although the media is obviously trying to kill off another large piece of the economy by killing private aviation through fear reports.
Thanks... I was wondering about those Viet Bong...
Aviation guy on Atlanta TV just said that is what happened.
They now have good pictures of the plane and it looks like it was dropped straight down.
No debris field...just "plop!".
ONLY AN ASS WOULD MAKE THAT STATEMENT. KERRY CAN USE YOU ON HIS SIDE.
Media comment of the day so far: WSB TV in Atlanta reporterette asks a witness if there was anyone on board the plane. Man says if there was they didn't make it!
Oh, please.
Worry about a semi-truck full of fertilizer or gasoline or something.
Small airplanes can only carry about as much as a volkswagen beetle.
