On TUESDAY, OCTOBER 19th, we invite you to leave your checkbook and credit cards at home as a symbolic gesture that we no longer "buy" the glacial pace of change for working women around the world. Click here to read more.
The money we don't spend during our one day BUYCOTT will be used to underscore the importance of investing in future generations of women. On October 19th, we will contribute $12,000 to Room To Read to build a new 85 Broads school in Vietnam (click here for more info). In 2002, we built two 85 Broads schools in Nepal through our partnership with Room To Read, which was founded by former Microsoft Executive John Wood and 85 Broads member Erin Keown (COO).

I certainly don't object to charitable efforts to assist those in third world countries and what have you, but this "protest" against the lack of parity in corporate boardrooms is laughable.
I put this in "humor" for a reason.
Also, check the source link and scroll down to the last entry, a panel discussion on the "new" administration in January 2005. Are they expecting a Kerry victory? (barf)
Comments, anyone???
I always like to get in a little early Christmas shopping.
I have no time to go shopping tomorrow. Oh well I'll go out to lunch. That counts as spending money.
Cool. More for the rest of us. Think anyone will have any boycott sales?
My wife goes without her daily pair of new shoes?
Not likely lol
Might become the biggest shopping day of the year, huh?
repost
Have her pick up one in each color tomorrow!
Hmmm. I'll have to go Internet shopping tomorrow! ;o)
I was afraid the posting police would show up.
Ugh! I searched 85 broads and buycott, where did I go wrong?
But was it previously posted in humor?
My wife not buy anything? For 24 hours? How about not breathing? That's more likely.
Yes. I say we boycott bras, panties and bathing suits. The prices they charge for these items are ridiculous!
We should check in some of the feminist approved sites to see if they are shut down for shopping tomorrow, bet not!
Honey, I thought you were in bed already!
I have an urge to go buy something tomorrow, even if I don't need anything. I live in a world with two genders & find it to be a nice arrangement. Looks to me like the girls are trying to play a silly little power game.
While holding my sexist statement I ask. What is a Broads school?
'Nuff said.
Just damn.
If you want on the list, FReepmail me. This IS a high-volume PING list...
I was planning on going shopping Wednesday.......I need to pick up all the stuff for my daughter's halloween costume.
I guess I will just go and do it tomorrow!!!!!!!!
Other than it really makes me want to go shopping on Oct 19...
