Has anyone decided to vote early? Were the lines long? Do you think long lines are a bad or good indicator for Bush?
Voted absentee ballot today.
To avoid long lines, or some mishap that would prevent you from voting later.

and your absentee ballot is tossed.
Absentee is a last resort. If you have to use it do
it EARLY so that it reaches the Elections people
many days before the logs are distributed to the
precinct.
If they do their job properly, those logs go out
with absentees already marked, but if the absentee
happens too late this is not done."
I voted friday in anson co. NC. No lines, I did have to wait a few minutes, but only because it was lunch time and all but one person was out.
Several of us have. There was an earlier thread. Lots of lines.
My wife and I just got back from voting. We live in Boulder County, Colorado. It is a slow process, 30-35 minutes. The line went out the door, about 40 people in line and 12 voting booths.
The Colorado Secretary of State requires that voters present a picture ID, such as a drivers license. I told the fellow checking IDs that I very much approved of the requirement. He agreed.
A poll worker told me that it has been steady all morning and into the noon time hour.

Why yes, I have heard in the news that lots of people are voting early. ;)
I did this morning. I attempted to last friday, but decided not to wait in the lengthy line; they were estimating it would take up to an hour. I went back today during a rainstorm & only waited 10 minutes in line.

Many states do not count absentee ballots unless there is enough to possible make a difference. I want my vote to count no matter what. That is why I don't absentee vote. It's the principle of it.
Early voting in NM started at 10:00 AM on Saturday. My wife and I went in at 10:05 and we were the first in our county. There was no line at the time, but the election workers were expecting it to get busy. IMO, good turnout favors Bush.

If I were a dem I'd vote 20 times by absentee ballot alone.
8,500 since early voting began on the 13th in Shelby Co according to WREC 600. I voted in Millington this moring. About 10 people were waiting for them to open. We have the touch screens. Even did our mayoral run off ballot too.
Can you explain what you mean by the popular tally? I'm in Florida and it took me almost 2 hours to vote. A good majority of the people voting in my precinct were elderly or retired
I assume you have to register to vote early?
I thought you would have to have a special registration besides being a registered voter. Today in our local rag it claims that 125,000 new voters have registered in Luzerne County and only 17,000 are Republican? Bullshit!
