I am WORKING the elections...wish we had EVERY Freeper working at an election polling site...FRAUD would cease to exist.

THAT should be the number one goal of FreeRepublic, is to get every FREEPER in an election hall.

Working as a judge or clerk is a great way to keep the American system alive and free from corruption.

Having been an election judge, and a clerk, I would guess about half have their registration card. Many just use their drivers license as ID. With early voting, you don't have to be in the right precinct, just the right county.

HEHE. Around here? Maybe one or two in front of me but that's about it:') Sounds like an opportunity for a 2 hr. freep party to me.

I'm not sure how I think they could find out but I don't want to give the enemy a heads up count.

Palo Dura Canyon is a beautiful part of Texas. I grew up below the Caprock.

I had to change my registration because I moved and haven't gotten my card yet. Kinda sucks. One would think there would be a convienient way to print off one online, which could be used in conjunction with your DL to vote.

We have early voting in Texas. You can go to several polling places, and get a ballot to vote early, or you can request a ballot by mail. None will be turned in or counted until election day.

I'm signed up for a clerk too . I'm not sure what I'll be doing yet (first time). What do you watch for?

HEADS UP!

Just read on another thread (earlier this AM) about the potential for FRAUD in voting 'straight ticket'.
It may be a peculiarity of North Carolina, I don't know....but the suggestion was to check the 'straight ticket' box, and then go ahead and make sure you individually 'check'/circle? the R's

Seems that the individual checks 'trump' the single-checked "R".

If something happens, illness, accident, etc., my vote is in and will count.

That is exactly what I did. Voting straight ticket covers you in case of a problem, but I like to bubble in each individual vote, too.

Yes, it is! And it's always so much fun to take visitors to see it. They usually cannot believe there's a "canyon" anywhere in the Panhandle. Waaay to flat...you can see forever in every direction!

Maybe it depends on who is 'in charge' of that state, and how much they want RATIONAL control of the voting.

I don't understand this early voting thing. Mass. won't doo it; they need as much time as possible for the decision making payouts.

I graduated from WT - loved to drive at night and see the lights for miles around. Also, no trees to get in the way.

Texas Alert!!!

Fox News reports that the US Supreme Court has sent back the Texas redistricing map to a lower court for them to "take another look at".

Dem scum wins a big one.

What's the advantage to voting early vs waiting until 11/2?

Shorter lines.
No "card pushers" to dodge.
If you're working election day you don't have to get in late or rush home to vote.
If you're working the election for the party or a candidate you need not stop on election day to vote.
the election judge where I early vote has better legs than The one in my precinct.

We have early voting in Florida, too, and I just voted. A bunch of Kerry supporters camped out in the park across from the supervisor of elections office, so that the first vote cast would be for Kerry - but guess what, they slept late, and a Republican walked in ahead of them, with the result that Alachua County's first vote for President went to GWB!!!
