DUBYA STORMS TO 6-PT. LEAD
By STEFAN C. FRIEDMAN
October 17, 2004 -- President Bush has surged to a 6-point lead over Sen. John Kerry, the largest edge the president has enjoyed since his much-maligned performance in the first debate, according to a poll of likely voters released yesterday.
Fueled largely by a solid advantage among women, Bush leads Kerry 50 percent to 44 percent, the Newsweek poll found.
After squandering an 11-point lead during the first debate, Bush managed to regain his footing in the final two head-to-head showdowns, according to the survey.

6% is not enough, got to get it to 10% somewhow. Challenge Kerry to a debate about the draft, stem cells and announce that Ossama is DEAD
FOUR MORE YEARS!
Challenge Kerry to a DUEL!
10% is needed to overcome the fraud, I agree.
We gotta act like we're down, by a lot.
Bush leads with women and Kerry leads with men?
This is convoluted, but I'll take it.
Whoot!
LOL! How about baseballs at 50 paces?
fraud was exactly the reason I was thinking of
W rules
Gay men.
6% lead from a Newsweak poll.
Isn't this the poll that they said that Bush was only slightly ahead of Kerry?
Come here, Big Boy! (and bring the fries!)
Teresa Heinz Kerry
I don't know if it's possible, barring some extraordinary news for W or some cataclysmic event for Kerry, in this era, polarized electorate and MSM being over-and-beyond in the tank for Kerry, for W to get anywhere near a 10-point lead. Unfortunately, the way I see it, these are not the days of Nixon and Reagan, where enough people had sense.
Anyhow, even if W had a 20-point lead, I still would be nervous. 2 weeks is an eternity in politics, and I don't trust the other side as far as I could throw a house. God knows what they'll be up to.
As for this poll and others, while it's very nice to see, I'm a bit suspicious--how do we know they're not up to their old tricks again and are setting W up so that in the next few days or next week, will show him plummeting and Kerry as the "comeback" once again? I wouldn't put anything past them.
"Bush leads with women and Kerry leads with men?"
Not possible.
Kerry might lead with males, but never men.
There is a real difference.
never trust the media
Of course, I don't see this mentioned on Yahoo's web page, though when Kerry was supposedly up by 1-2%, it was posted within minutes.
Maybe it's too early in the AM, but I doubt it.

Maybe it's too early in the AM for them to post it yet, but I doubt it.
When I was in the Army, we would call that "stand off".
She looks like Vladimir Putin in drag.
