Mary Cheney Labeled With the “L” Word

Mary Cheney Labeled With the “L” Word by John Kerry October 15, 2004 11:55 PM

Apparently John Kerry believes in pre-emptive strikes when it comes to the “L” word. The third debate was set up for President George W. Bush to tag Mr. Kerry with the “L” word, dubbing him as a liberal from Massachusetts. John Kerry would have none of that, after all, he made it clear in debate number two that he doesn’t believe in labels when he let loose with his whiny “stop labeling me” comment to President George W. Bush.

Another L word that describes Kerry: Loser.

The creep didn't even have the decency to use Mary Cheney's name. Just lesbian. Gay would have assaulted the ears less, but no matter how it was said, sKerry sucks.

Kerry made debate history when he said the magic words that made Mary Cheney a worldwide, lifetime poster girl for lesbianism.

I wonder if she'll be able to go anywhere in the world, (especially the Middle East) without his words travelling with her.

Kerry is
a man -- going 'round -- naming names.

Mary Cheney is a lesbian. People need to get over it. The Cheney's need to deal with it because Mary Cheney is not going to change just because they or anyone else would like her to change. I can't believe the furor over this.

Sorry for the rant, but this is getting ridiculous, IMHO.

We got a real good peek behind Kerry's mask the other day.

Kerry has now proven he lacks the diplomatic skills he pretended to have in such great abundance.

I wonder what he is like when the camera isn't on him, since people often behave better in public than they do in private.

Mary Cheney is a lesbian. People need to get over it.

But she wasn't a worldwide poster child for lesbianism, until Kerry gave her a one-dimensional label on world-wide TV.

I wonder if the folks in the Middle East will be able to "get over" the one-dimensional label Kerry stuck on her.

She was treated as a means, not an end.

I can't believe the furor over this.

If you want to understand it, ask yourself what was Kerry's purpose in mentioning her by name. Surely he knows other people he could have used as examples of people who feel they were born that way. But why Mary Cheney?

The only answer has to be because he thought it would help him somehow and/or hurt Bush and Cheney. There is not really any way it could help Kerry directly for people to know Cheney has a lesbian daughter. So he must have thought it would hurt Bush/Cheney.

It smacks of manipulation and exploitation to try and scare Bush/Cheney supporters with the fact of Mary Cheney's sexual orientation. And hypocrisy, acting as if being a lesbian is okay, while at the same time using it to discourage your opponent's supporters.

So he must have thought it would hurt Bush/Cheney.

Of course the Kerry camp thought it would hurt the President but to really understand the mechanics you have to look at the liberal media's spin and follow the logic backwards to it's septic tank source. First an ABC poll shows that people believe by 2 to 1 that Kerry's remarks were distasteful. So the immediate reaction of the major media and its pundits is to do damage control for Kerry. Listen to how they excuse Mr. Kerry's remarks, they say it was okay for Mr. Kerry to bring up Mary Cheney's sexuality because it was common knowledge. To back up their thin logic they recite the fact that this came up in an August Vice Presidential campaign event. But it is just the opposite that is true. The majority of American's had no clue before this flap that the Vice President had a gay daughter and that is precisely why Edwards and Kerry brought it up in the nationally televised debates. The Kerry camp hoped that it would sour the support of some religious consevatives for George Bush. So with both Edwards and Kerry bringing Ms. Cheney's sexual orientation into the debate it could hardly be an accident. But you have to admit Kerry's halting delivery was very slick and calculated to give the impression that it was coming off the top of his head. BARF.

My first reaction to this comment is what are you on? My second is get real.

The Cheney's have dealt with this long ago they are comfortable with the situation otherwise Mary would not be his campaign manager.

I have not read anywhere of anyone suggesting Mary changes we may not agree with her lifestyle but we will fight to the death to allow her to live her life as she sees fit as long as she does not harm anyone.

The fact she is a lesbian is not the bone of contention it was Kerry mentioning her by name to drive a wedge between the VP and the President showing that they differ on the the amendment to the Constitution on defining marriage. Actually the VP has never said he is for gay marriage but that the states should decide and in his opinion the Clinton defence of marriage act was sufficient.

I think it is you that needs to get real

Ask former servants, if you can find some. House personnel know everything that goes on . . .
