Some other items:
Wu 58%, Ameri 36%
Measure 34 (Tillamook Forest lockup): Yes 39%, No 27%
Measure 36 (Preserve Traditional Marriage): Yes 57%, No 36%
I think the first stop after the debate was Las Vegas and Reno and then OR. That's what GWB told us Wednesday night at Bank One Ballpark. It was hard to hear, though, so I may be wrong. :)
If the GOP can take Oregon, it will sail 'em to victory.
Why is it hard to believe?
Oregon went to Gore by 0.1% last time.
It's no harder to believe that than to believe Bush up 5 in Wisconsin and Florida.
Oregon is trending GOP last few years.. Im not suprised one bit.
Aaah Shucks....leaning on fence post, hat pulled low, and toeing the dirt with my boot.....This ol coot is just pleased as punch about the way things are going....Oregon is going to go to Bush and I'll be smiling all the way to the bank....
Dang, the owl sure tasted good for lunch....
I'm homing that the marriage ammendments will help Bush get over the top in states like Ohio and Oregon.
Here in Florida, there is a measure on the ballot asking if parents should be informed about their daughter getting an abortion. It is supposed to pass overwhelmingly.
Let's hope so.
I believe you are talking about Washington. Nethercutt (R) beat incumbent Speaker Tom Foley (D) (or as the locals called him , Tom Foolery).
They'll probably try to cheat again, like they did last time, keeping the elections office open in Multnomah County after 8:00 PM...but we'll have a lot of people watching 'em this time.
I'd like to be toeing that dirt with you! Was just out in your exquisitely beautiful state...on the ocean, in the mountains, in the green, green forests and in the desert.
Saw loads of Bush signs all over!
I agree with you. I'd still vote if I heard my candidate was way down. Every vote really does count. The machines, too!
Here in Arizona in the primary, two of the guys running for state rep. were separated by 4 votes when the votes were counted. There was a challenge and they found one of the machines didn't count right or soemthing and they found more votes that were distributed to the four guys running. The one yong man (that I voted for)who was up by 4 was after the recount DOWN by 13 votes and lost. Oh well.
I just hope they make sure all the machines are working for the general! They are the type that scan the ballots.
I have the misfortune of having to deal with two lunatics from Oregon. One is an admitted socialist and the other is a enviro-nutjob. Nothing, nothing could please me more than Oregon going to the President.
*sigh*
That's what I was thinking. Could be closer than ARG, which I'm beginning to laugh at, says. Well, if it costs the Dems, keep on it Mr. Bush. Boy it would be nice to get some 'blue' states in a win.
How do you know?
Molly
Ma'am,
Dear Lady. Our state is going to go for Bush because of one thing; the marriage bill. After what those dim witted women did in Portand to allow the so called gay unions, most people in this state hit a wall of moral outrage. Sure, it CAN get wacky here, but, this time the Libs just went to far.
Went to our city council meeting last week. Local pastor led in a nice, soft spoken prayer and then all stood for the pledge of allegience. No obvious bible thumping, just a firm committment to values that have been in our neighborhood for generations and that have proven to be tried and true through good and bad. This is what
most people here want.
Bush will win.....take it to the bank
source on that is? You can be vague, but how do you know about good polls if this day's polling is not done?
many thanks,
