Is There An Easy Way To Record Rush's or Savage's Shows For Later Playback?

Rush is on here in Penna at 12 noon, EST; Savage comes on at 6pm, EST. I'm frequently either on the road, or with customers here at my nursery, and sometimes miss part or all of their streamed broadcasts.
If anyone does record them, or anyother talk shows, what software do you like and use?
My computer's TV tuner card/ (www.hauppauge.com) doesn't works for streamed audio; only for the cable modem.
I went to ZDnet.com's downloads page, and found a boatload of players and recorders, but most seem to be for mp3/ mpeg files.
I've downloaded UltraPlayer (www.ultraplayer.com) and upgraded WinAmp (www.winamp.com), but neither seem to be able to record streaming content for later playback.
I'm not the sharpest pencil in the drawer when it comes to recording music files, so an *easy-to-use app* would be appreciated, if anyone could pls recommend one to me.

The 'on the cheap' solution is to take that VCR that is likely gathering dust, take a tuner or even just a portable radio, get a mini-RCA adapter, and plug it into the audio inputs on your VCR. Then set the timer on the VCR to record your shows.
This only works if both programs are on the same radio channel, and playback can be done through the VCR. Most VCRs will record six hours of audio, plenty for Rush and Savage.

A subscription to Rush 24x7 might be easier and you can select each hour separately. Consider the amount of storage you would accumulate doing the recording on your own (just part of the TCO equation). Don't know if Savage has the equivalent.
BUT the device Munson points out is intriging. Coupled with other software, you should be able to generate transcripts.

I live in an area where it is very hard to rec' Rush's show, despite the fact that it is broadcast from less than 50 miles away from towns in all directions. My experience with streaming audio, a few years ago, was maddening.

Kingu's solution is the best. I ignored the fact that you are gone and need some sort of auto-timing to turn it on.
The VCR would work great.

There's also a product called Replay Radio, which acts kind of like a VCR for streaming audio.
I believe its website is www.replay-radio.com.
It works quite well and has a built in library of many radio shows.
Cheers

You might want to take a look at Total Recorder, which can record everything coming over your computer's sound board, including Real Audio streams. Check out www.highcriteria.com for details. Hope this helps.

Thanks, c. Unfortunately Savage doesn't have that capability; just the 6pm stream.

Records streaming audio. Big files though. Use an audio converter program to change the format into what you want. MP3, WAV. etc...etc.... It will also make the files considerably smaller. ;)

Another source would be alt.binaries.sounds.radio.misc -- daily recordings of Rush, Savage, Coast to Coast, Libby, Hannity, etc (plus a lot of leftist dribble) is available. It is a more technical solution, but it gives you MP3 files to take with you.

Thanks, k. I've got a Sony Super BetaMax and a Sony VHS at home, and haven't used them in many years. I'll explore this further.
