Holidays in Iraq and Afghanistan for military members
http://operationmilitarypride.org
Once again this year our hearts, thoughts and prayers are with our soldiers who will be away from their families this upcoming Holiday season. Many thousands of our sons, husbands, daughters and wives are continuing to answer the call to service, and will celebrate Christmas or Hanukah far away from their loved ones.
Our hope is to fill the desert landscape, and tent cities our troops now call "home" with holiday joy and knowledge that they most certainly have not been forgotten during this most wonderful time of year. BUT...in order to do that for them...we need YOU! We need to raise 2000.00 dollars to help with packages and 500.00 for phone cards. Till Friday all donations are being matched. We need to raise this TODAY!!!
Last year our communities, churches, synagogues, families and individuals came together in overwhelming numbers in support of Operation Military Pride endeavor to send Christmas stockings filled to the brim for our soldiers and stuffed care packages for the holidays. We were also able to help get holiday gifts to deployed military's children. We will be kicking that program off today.
We are looking forward again to a wondrous celebration of the generosity and heart of a very grateful nation for the services of our Armed Forces. Please know that your contribution, no matter the size, WILL deeply touch the life of a soldier. Just knowing that YOU have lifted the spirits and boosted the morale of a soldier longing for home will be an incredible holiday gift you have given to yourself.
As you are putting together your holiday shopping list, our hope is that you will add an American Soldier to that list, and we thank you humbly, and from the bottom of our hearts in advance, for your thoughtfulness.
We wish you the Merriest of all Holiday Seasons, and may this be the year that we truly find peace on Earth and good will to man...
Thank you once again for your loyal support! Please click the link below to give your donation or click on donate on website or email Admin@operationmilitarypride.org to adopt a military member this holiday season.

Bumpity.
I agree 100% with what you said.. People do not know how much a simple letter or cookies or packages from home means.
Another soldier support organization worthy of support is Operation Gratitude based in Southern California. I have personally volunteered at care packaging events with them. I've had experience with other soldier support groups and this one is the very best:
