From Sacramento, California to Columbus Ohio there's a low buzz starting to swell every hour on the hour when Clear Channel affiliates flip the switch to air ABC network news. Some conservative talk radio hosts apologize to their audiences in advance for what they are about to hear from a network they or their stations have no control over.
Last night's presidential debate was a prime example. Local talk shows who aired the debate were pre-empted from comment afterwards. ABC's San Donaldson and Cokie Roberts had to declare Bush the looser before turning stations back to conservative hosts. Given the ABC marching orders exposed by Free Republic and Matt Drudge a day earlier, ABC's removal of the evidence and viewer comments on ABC's website, it's no longer a smoking gun. By default, Clear Channel Communications has become the co-conspirators of ABC's political ploy.
One look at Sinclair Broadcasting Group's actions in the television market should make Clear Channel think twice about being in bed with ABC. Aren't stations outside SBG clamoring to air Stolen Valor. Clear Channel listeners are probing their talk show hosts for information on when and where the program will air on local television stations. There's a wedding to be had here and Clear Channel Communication seems to be the reluctant bride.
Is it time for Conservative America to let Clear Channel Communication know we're concerned about this unholy alliance with ABC. Is it time for CCC's Mark Mays, Interim CEO, President and Chief Operating Officer to stand up to the networks like his namesake, MARK HYMAN of Sinclair Broadcasting Group?
Freepers have been known to make things happen. If you agree it's time to send a message to Clear Channel, here's a link. Let us know if we can share your e-mail with the growing list of organizations doing the same.

Those two nit-wits made my blood boil after the debates!
jmstein7 -- hey here's one that's not yours :)
BTTT -- excellent idea.
First CBS, now ABC. Someone predicted the collapse of the MSM in this election (Bernie Goldberg, maybe?) and it's a delight to behold.
I sent him the article linking Mark Halperin's father to George Soros
If you folks think this campaign will inspire freepers, please pass the word. I'm still learning.
Perhaps Clear Channel can get a news feed from NewsCentral or Fox

Hey woodb01, I took your advice and went to noDNC.com. Is this going to be a new FR format? I am clueless how to post over there. Could you do it for us? Can we post our URL here and is it okay to link back to this forum?
While I didn't listen to my CC station last night, I do know that when the commentary on the network shows begins to go south they typically dump the net and return to local programming, before the network has officially handed it back.
LOSER, dammit, LOSER, LOSER, LOSER!!! The President's suit may have been looser, but Kerry was the loser of the debate. ( sigh )
Anyway. Can someone clarify, a little bit, what exactly we're going to send to Clear Channel Execs? Apparently Clear C', the radio conglomerate thingie, is "purchasing" (more or less?) news coverage from ABC, right? And so we want to ask them to dump ABC, for Halperin reasons, in favor of FNC, right? ( Does FNC even have a radio-type of news thing that they offer for the market? ) Eh, well just please tell me if I'm not quite getting this, I'm a bit shaky.
Thanks for the great link. I wasn't aware of the Soros link - the bias, yes of course, but not the link. Dan Rather's all over this, right? (Anybody pinged Rush & Hannity?)
Done. I usually get local news updates anyways, but thank God I didn`t have to hear that ABC--AllBullCrap spin last night.
As far as using the mailto link, I would hope people make their own case, for or against the concept. I just think we can't sit and let ABC get away with it. Sinclair showed courage and if CCC even went so far as to hint they were considering such a move, wouldn't it send shockwaves over the air waves?
I wouldn't relish losing Paul Harvey either but I suspect his syndicators would have something to say if market share started going away. Thing is, as much pressure as this would put on ABC or CCC, I have no clue how to get some big booming voice behind this. We kicked this around and figured Freepers would know.
Remember to include your City/State when you click the e-mail link. We'd like to thank a few more folks for jumping on. So far about a dozen from our little local website and most of those Sacramento Area folks. Thanks also to:
