Fox Panel: Debate a 'Knock Out' for Bush

Fox Panel: Debate a 'Knock Out' for Bush

Fox News Channel's debate panel ruled the last of three face-offs between John Kerry and President Bush a clear win for the president, with panelist Bill Kristol saying Kerry had been "knocked out."

"I think Bush knocked Kerry out tonight," he told Fox debate anchor Brit Hume. "He just slaughtered him. "I was keeping track of the twenty questions," Kristol said. "I don't have Kerry winning any question outright. I think maybe six or seven were tied. And I have Bush winning outright a majority of the questions."

Panelist Fred Barnes concurred.

"It was clearly President Bush's best debate. He seemed to marshall all the arguments that he wanted on all these domestic issues - many of which are traditional Democratic issues, including health care."

Barnes said this was the first debate where Bush seemed "animated and strong" on the early questions. "In the others it's taken him sort of a half hour to get rolling."

"If he had done as well in the first debate as he did tonight, he'd have a much bigger lead in this race," he added.

Panelist Morton Kondracke agreed, saying, "I think Kerry was on the defensive a lot of the time so I think it was a much better performance by Bush."

"Mr. Shrum was the principal speechwriter to Senator George McGovern in the 1972 Democratic campaign for President. Subsequently, he served as the Staff Director and Chief Counsel of the United States Senate Select Committee on Nutrition and Human Needs. Mr. Shrum served as Press Secretary to Senator Edward M. Kennedy from 1980 to 1984, and he was the Senator's principal speechwriter during and after the 1980 presidential campaign..."

If this is where Kerry is getting advice, talking points, and speech text, that's pretty sad. If they are using George McGovern/Ted Kennedy era strategy, that's good news for Bush. Unbelievable! Shows just how out of touch Kerry is.

Kerry bringing up his mother's death was a shameless play for sympathy from women. You don't do that during a job interview! Women see right through that, and do not like boys dragging out their mothers for pity. This is not Alpha Male behavior nor something a Commander in Chief would do.

Fox got it right tonight after their disaster analyzing the 2nd debate. I scored it Kerry 3, Bush 8 with 9 draws and Bush winning the closing argument by a mile. I think I'm generous to Kerry on this one.

It's also amazing to me that 1) the collective wisdom of the media seems to be that the 2nd debate was either a win for Kerry or a draw (at worst for Kerry) and 2) CNN has called this one a big Kerry win. He got slammed!

Also, I counted split screens. I don't know who had the feed tonight but it was clearly slanted anti-Bush. Kerry 10, Bush 16 with most of those 16 much, much longer in duration. I think they were disappointed with the absence of scowls although liberal Andrea Mitchell had the audacity to say Bush looked incredulous.

God, I'm so sick of the MSM.

I'd like to volunteer to beat the crap out of McAwful.

Get in line, buddy.

Kerry's defeat will send a clear signal that America is tired of below the belt tactics and methodology. McAlffee can go back to work for the unions.

Soros is that you? - probably not - he's too busy buying up oil futures to drive up the price of crude and bring the stock market and consumer confidence down before the election.....

In hearing about the debates, I've been wondering if the plan all along was to tank the first debate, get the Dims overconfident, then smoke Kerry in the last two debates.

It woulda been better if the baseball playoffs weren't going on.

A clear victory for Kerry. I know this because CNN's Bill Schneider told me so.

CBS poll showing major Kerry victory tonight: 39-25

This is consistent with Gallup/CNN and disputes the ABC News poll that heavily oversampled Republicans and showed a 1-pt. Kerry lead.

Disturbing if true, but tradesports looks good and I just almost can't believe these polls.

Kerry was a worn out whore tonight....

I'm not real proud at what I've become over this election...but, I do feel better for saying it... temporarily that is.
