Fox Panel: Debate a 'Knock Out' for Bush

Fox Panel: Debate a 'Knock Out' for Bush

Fox News Channel's debate panel ruled the last of three face-offs between John Kerry and President Bush a clear win for the president, with panelist Bill Kristol saying Kerry had been "knocked out."

"I think Bush knocked Kerry out tonight," he told Fox debate anchor Brit Hume. "He just slaughtered him. "I was keeping track of the twenty questions," Kristol said. "I don't have Kerry winning any question outright. I think maybe six or seven were tied. And I have Bush winning outright a majority of the questions."

Panelist Fred Barnes concurred.

"It was clearly President Bush's best debate. He seemed to marshall all the arguments that he wanted on all these domestic issues - many of which are traditional Democratic issues, including health care."

Barnes said this was the first debate where Bush seemed "animated and strong" on the early questions. "In the others it's taken him sort of a half hour to get rolling."

"If he had done as well in the first debate as he did tonight, he'd have a much bigger lead in this race," he added.

Panelist Morton Kondracke agreed, saying, "I think Kerry was on the defensive a lot of the time so I think it was a much better performance by Bush."

Think about it people - President Bush usually goes to bed at about 9:00 p.m.

First debate - Miami - Eastern Time Zone - 9:00 p.m. - Bush appears tired BECAUSE HE IS TIRED - Bush loses debate.

Second debate - St. Louis - Central Time Zone - 8:00 p.m. - Bush does much better, still somewhat shrill though, ties in debate.

Third debate - Tempe - Mountain Time Zone - 7:00 p.m. - Bush wins convincingly.

Also explains why Bush campaigned yesterday in Colorado; it had nothing to do with "a tightening race" there as the MSM tried to portray; Bush needed to be somewhere in the Mountain Time Zone to get acclimated to the earlier time so he would not be tired.

He just couldn't help himself.
Kerry is really THAT dense.
His whole name dropping "thang" ---
he was trying to show Bush as uncaring and mean.
HA! It boomeranged.

Please watch a replay.
You will be pleased.

YES, Kristol looked very happy.
Maybe it was POTUS mention of his boy McCain?

It will be interesting to see if the polls are consistent with those findings. I watched the debates on FoxNews and Krystol predicted before the debate that Bush would do well and "knock out" Kerry. I guess he knew what he was talking about. BTW, he did NOT say that before either of the first two debates.

I listened to the debate on am radio. The only thing that I know for sure is that kerry will appoint pro-abort judges. Other than that, I couldn't make head nor tail of his positions on healthcare, jobs, etc. His explanation on abortion as it related to being a Catholic was painfully lame and resolutely suspect.

I don't think he's a good debater at all, and isn't it funny that President Bush wins this hodge-podge debate decisively, but lost the first one. The fickle-finger of fate. I hope President Bush wins. And I can't wait until this election is over with. I'm exhausted from keeping up with it.

Nope you're wrong...It was a knock out...Kerry's same ole, same ole did not resonate...The president was refreshed and ready to present his position...He came across with his position much better than he did before...Kerry was not in tune at all. He kept proclaiming he had a plan, but could not communicate it...The comment on Cheney's daughter was a real downside for Kerry.

Chris Matthews actually dragged Bob Shrum, the old impulsive Tourette's-suffering not-ready-for-primetime Ted Kennedy gargoyle, out of mothballs to shill for Kerry. It was sad. They're getting desperate now.

The sawdust is starting to pour out of Kerry's seams.

I think the President should have been more direct in his answer on RoevWade. He should have said, as he has before, that he would appoint "strict constructionists" that don't read "rights" into the constitution that aren't there. Or, that don't dismiss "rights" clearly articulated in the Constitution (i.e. 2nd Ammendment).

He did a good job on the Homosexual Marraige ban ammendment. Kerry is a moron or liar if he thinks that states can still decide these issues. The man didn't even support DOMA. He clearly lost points on that.

WTF was the logic behind the Democrats prepping Kerry to bring up Dick Cheney's daughter's sexual preference?

I didn't see the debate either, but John Kerry analyzes every move he makes up one side and down the other. He questions, considers, reconsiders, questions somebody else....

Kerry cooked his own goose, I'd bet.
