Buchanan: Bush had 'disasterous' first debate
The Pittsburgh Tribune-Review ^ | Wednesday, October 13, 2004 | Chris Foreman

If President Bush fails in his re-election bid, the enduring image of his campaign will be the scowls on his face while Democratic nominee John Kerry answered questions during the debate at the University of Miami last month, according to one of Bush's opponents in 2000.

"It was the single most disastrous performance of any president at the debate level," Patrick J. Buchanan, the 2000 Reform Party presidential candidate, said Tuesday night at Indiana University of Pennsylvania. "He had the chance to put it away."

Buchanan spoke at Fisher Auditorium for the college's "Ideas and Issues" lecture series, which is sponsored by the IUP Center for Student Life. The conservative commentator, who also sought the Republican nomination for president in 1992 and 1996, lambasted the two-party system in America for generating candidates who are "two wings of the same bird of prey."

To be a good debater you have to have a certain trait, Flip-flopping. President Bush is not good at that. He is good at being a leader and he leads from the FRONT. Hanoi john leads in the rear with the gear and needs the UN to tell him what to do. Also to finance him he will tax you and he will start a draft and put our all volunteer force in danger with all those people who don't want to be there and couldn't pack their gear any better than Hanoi john.

Hey Willie, some people can't stand it when Pat is right again. They criticize his personality or say he loves Fulani and Hitler because they can't overcome his arguments.

Pat writes books and columns. He is right about illegal immigration, trade deficits costing jobs, foreign entanglments bringing war to our shores, opposing abortion and homosexual practices.

Pat is right for America first, last and only and that makes them mad.

To be a good debater you have to be able to be able to argue both sides of an argument within minutes..which is perfect for Kerry since he has no core belief (flip-flops) but Bush has integrity in his opinions which isn't as spinnable - besides the people that don't vote according to what the media and pundits say, think Bush did pretty good in the 1st debate. On trade, economic, immigration and energy issues, he talks outa both sides of his mouth just like any other politician. He is not a "leader". He doesn't trust the American People with straightforward, honest TRUTH. His political "strategery" is to pass the buck and not make waves.

Good grief - pat is the last one who should refer to "scowls on his face".

That man's face would shatter into a zillion pieces if he ever smiled.

Pat makes me BARF.

BIG TIME.

He's a sore a loser as gore and keyes.

Buchanan: Bush had 'disasterous' first debate

This is pretty funny coming from Buchanan who has, basically, been a disaster.

If that's what you think okay. This I will say, I trust President Bush and even at my age he can put mt U. S. Air Force uniform back on me and I'll go and give him a salute and get to work on Accomplishing the MISSION! President Bush is a leader and understands what the Founding Fathers wrote in the Constitution and the Bill of Rights. If you want Hanoi john I hope you are not going to get him and if you do don't come crying and whining to me. God Bless America,President Bush, and all Who have Worn a uniform defending her past, present and the future to come.

Heck, the sockpuppet doesn't even know that he has the executive veto power over Congressional spending.
The system of checks and balances designed by our Founders is withering from atrophy.

foreign entanglments bringing war to our shores,

I see why you were promoting Michael Moore up thread, you are using his blame-America talking points.

And regarding 'entanglments,' I think I found your missing 'e.' Pat stole it for his 'disasterous' column.
