Wow! 20 days to go people. Lets show the world what we think of this scumbag!
To: Smoote
Notice that the article says that awards are revoked, if various categories of less than honorable discharges are given. It also notes and names the precise date, when all of Kerry's awards were reissued, which clearly suggests that all had been revoked previously.

This is going to sound really off the wall and OT, but someone on another site not too long ago was talking about looking for help in locating a film of Kerry and a couple of his anti-war cohorts apparently whizzing on the American flag during one of their anti-war activities. This gentleman said that it had occurred, and that's all I know. After that, I was out of town and busy for a long time and didn't know where to follow up. Anyone else know anything about this? If true, it's vomit-inducing to the bile degree. I heard, about 2 weeks ago, that the SBVs were disclosing a photo of Kerry urinating on a US flag. This came from a friend whose father is a former Green Beret with ties to some of the SBVs. I heard that October 15 was the disclosure date.

I hope its big. I still don't know what Kerry's plan(plans) is. "I have a plan, I have a plan, I have a plan........." And just what would he have done differently in the war on terror. Makes me shudder to think of it. I think I know. More oil for food and spitballs. And will someone please tell me why no one has contradicted Kerry on the 5 million who lost health care. Its another lie.

You're joking . . right? That's a joke, correct?
Since we're down to the wire here I wont indulge your snarky, oblivious comments. Yes, there is a media food chain and The New York Sun is on the Bottom.
There is a liberal track and a conservative track. I know exactly what will happen when it "travels" and or gets squashed at the liberal track but the conservative track looks like this (for a story eminating out of Manhatten, no less):
The New York Post, Drudge Report, Fox News, All the Cable networks covering the coverage of the News (and trying to discredit or quash it) then onto the weeklies and on line: the Weekly Standard, NewsMax, The Washington Post (maybe), Andrewsullivan.com, then there's talk radio: Rush, O'Reilly, Tony Snow, Laura Ingram, Hannity and Colmes.
Are you starting to get the picture or do you just trade in snarky comments that do nothing to further the debate and/or anyone's cause?

I think the DUI story hurt Bush badly. I also think dirty tricks indeed work, which is why the dems use them when they are behind in the polls.
I don't think this story is going to be much of an issue for Kerry because it is inconclusive at this point. The MSM is also going to ignore it (unlike the forged docs on Bush's NG service), unless they can turn it against Bush. If someone can come up with an official document showing Kerry was dishonorably discharged, that would have more traction. I agree that this should have been released before now, but it sounds like this may be newly discovered.
The Bush campaign needs to stay clear of this one and continue to honor Kerry's military service if asked about it.

The Discharge????
The New York Sun and now the Swiftees!
GREAT!!
To: sevry
Oh yeah, add on the WSJ to the conservative media track. And my guess is with this story they will only be covering the coverage
By the way, I hope that I'm wrong but I am so tired of cynical Republicans who would rather cling onto their "despair" than accept reality and, with it, maybe accept some responsibility for the missteps we make. From this process we grow.
Or dont we make any missteps? It's only the Dimocrats who are complete unmitigated morons?

If this is the great October surprise it is going to blow up in our face I think you are wrong, I don't believe America is ready for a
Dishonorable Commander In Chief!

Bet on announcement concerning Kerry's discharge and why he had to have all his medals reissued.
Kerry and I both entered service in 1966, I received Honorable discharge in 1972. Kerry did not receive Honorable discharge until 1978 after a board of review under Pres Carter.
A Dishonorable discharge removes a decorations and may be later reviewed and changed - but seems to happen only for Senators.

" But as the Sun points out, Kerry needs to explain why he required a presidential order and special board to get his discharge."
- Your suggested approach to take with this matter would bring it to the attention of the public but avoid the danger (as some here have expressed concern about) that, if framed as an allegation, it could turn out to be an unsubstantiated smear.
If the facts in this article are true on the face of it, it would certainly raise a lot of suspicions that should be pursued - but carefully.

This story has been under continuous investigation for a long time. There are no new facts here; just a newspaper willing to ask an obvious question.

I just rebooted and everything is OK again. What a curious coincidence. I'm getting paranoid.
To: N. Beaujon
Yes, there is a media food chain and The New York Sun is on the Bottom. This is the same reporter and newspaper that broke the story of Kerry's attendence at the senator assassination meeting. I will grant that the story hasn't caused much stir (yet) but it was factual and unchallenged.
