THREE KILLED IN TEL AVIV MARKET BOMBING
By Dan Wooding

TEL AVIV, ISRAEL (ANS) -- Three people - two women and one man all in their 20s - were killed and more than 30 were wounded - five seriously - when a Palestinian suicide bomber blew up at a dairy deli in the busy Carmel Market in central Tel Aviv just after 11:20am on Monday, November 1. (Pictured: The bomb was detonated in a shop in a busy Tel Aviv market -- Picture from BBC website).
The Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine claimed responsibility for the attack, identifying the bomber as 18 year-old Amar Alfar from the Askar refugee camp in Nablus.
According to a story released by the ICEJ News Service in Jerusalem, Security officials said the bomber managed to arrive in the east Jerusalem suburb of Abu Dis on Sunday night planning to carry out the attack in the capital.
Their story continued, According to Deputy Defense Minister Ze'ev Boim the initial working assessment of the security forces was that the terrorist entered Israeli territory through a gap in the security fence north of Jerusalem where construction has been halted pending numerous High Court challenges.
Daunted by tight security across the capital, the bomber is thought to have secured a ride to Tel Aviv to carry out the bombing there, with press reports indicating Monday afternoon that the police has chased-down the car believed to have transported him and arrested two suspects.
From his bedside in a Parisian army hospital, ailing PA leader Yasser Arafat condemned the blast and "the killing of civilians on both sides," according to his spokesman.
But Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said that the attack that it proved "that there will been no change in the Palestinian Authority until the PA starts taking serious steps to eliminate terror, dismantle terrorist organizations and put an end to incitement."
Sharon continued in an address to lawmakers from his governing Likud faction in the Knesset, "The State of Israel has not stopped and will not stop its war on the murderous terrorism operating against us. Words, promises and half-hearted condemnations will not suffice. We demand full implementation of the Palestinian commitments."
The ICEJ story concluded by saying, The bombing was the first suicide attack in Israel since September 22, when a Palestinian woman bomber blew herself up at a central intersection in Jerusalem, killing two border policemen just three weeks after a double suicide blast killed 16 in near simultaneous bus bombings in the Negev town of Be'er Sheva.

Praying for the safe return of your son.
LOL. Hadn't seen it in a while, thanks.
Thank you for the summary.
Good luck! I voted at 7am. There was a line. I waited only 20 minutes. I did not smack the crap out of the gentleman who had a Kerry button on. I was very proud of myself plus I had my 9 year old with me. VIVA BUSH!
Saw that as well.
Personally, I don't think they have the capability. There's been plenty of great target opportunities over the past 3 years (State of the Union address, etc) and they weren't able to do anything.
Now, with that said..I'm also somewhat concerned with all of the missing tactical weapons from the former USSR and even USA. Both sides made the damn things, and very strong evidence (Congressional Testimony by Lebed [sp], etc) that there are more than a few "missing". It sure seems logical that AQ got their hands on one or two, but the fact that they haven't hit us this way yet makes me wonder if maybe there WAS better control over tactical proliferation than we all have thought.
Thanks, Vel.
He just called and is now in Frankfurt waiting for his flight back to the USA......
I know I'm preaching to the choir, but please, everyone.....go vote.
I'm off to the fire station now to poll watch all day.

Tinfoil Burka's ... hmmm, a total new fashion line!!!
That tape is almost from an alternate dimension, albiet a US democrat influenced one.
For one thing ... I also get the impression that OBL thinks 50,000 people died on 9/11.
Second .. when he mentions Bush being distracted by a little girl talking about her "goat's butting" ... it's like he honestly thought there was a real little girl with a real goat!
Guess you don't get real news in a cave, or something ...
Wow, Teri. good post
'AMERICA CAN'T DO A THING'
By AMIR TAHERI
November 2, 2004 -- AMERICANS will certainly have 9/11 in mind when they vote today. But they should keep another date in mind, too one almost exactly a quarter-century ago: Nov. 4, 1979. A clear path runs to 9/11 from the day of the raid on the U.S. embassy in Tehran and the seizure of American hostages.
The 1979 embassy attack came at a time when the administration of President Jimmy Carter was trying to prop up the new Khomeinist regime in Tehran. (snip)

Interesting article.
Actually, I'd think the sandstorms that caught our troops taught a lesson of a different sort.
They did not phase our military at all.
Testing, testing.
Why is it taking more than a 1/2 hour for a post to show up?
I can see the post in "my comments", but it's still not here on the thread.
Anyone else having this problem?
yesterday I would refresh and it was removing posts. Then I would refresh and they would be back again . . . glad its not just me.
Yes, things are very slow on here today. If I hit the refresh button, posts disappear for a few minutes before reappearing later.
It just happened to me again. My last post is gone. Really!
